I want to clean the oven on my Amana AC7270AS range. I set the timer and the clean cycle will not start and "door" appears on the control panel. An unusual clicking/ratcheting sound is emitting from the oven. I cancelled the clean cycle and now I am locked out of the oven. I flipped the breaker at the circuit box but I am still locked out of my oven. If the the darn thing is locked, then why won't it clean?

Sounds like a relay on the control board. I would suggest replacing the control itself.

Yes you should as you have started the cycle and now let it finish, should only take around 15 minutes.

you might try the following, although it is the instructions for an old model, it may be relevant;

"The actual self-cleaning process is initiated by a simple 5 step procedure: 1. Set the range clock to time of day. Note: on models not equipped with an automatic oven timer, the self-cleaning cycle is preprogrammed for a 21/2 hour cycle. Use Steps 3, 4 and 5 only. 2.Establish the length of cleaning time by:
A. Setting the start time. Press and turn the start dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired starting time. B. Set the stop time. Press and turn the stop dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired stop time. Max time is 3 hours miniumum 1/12 hours. 3. Set the oven selector dial on the control panel to "Clean" 4. Set the temperature control dial to "off". If you temperature control dial has a "Clean" position, then set the dial to "Clean" instead of "Off". 5. Remove oven racks, broiler pan and broiler grid from lower oven. Close and lock the oven door by moving the latch lever as far right as it will go - into the locked position. If the lever is accidently dislodged restore it to the locked position. Otherwise, the self-cleaning process will not take place. How to self clean
If your model has a door latch, never force the latch handle. Forcing the handle will damage the door lock mechanism.
The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly.
Before a Clean Cycle
For the first self-clean cycle, we recommend
venting your kitchen with an open window
or using a ventilation fan or hood.
Remove any broiler pan, broiler grid, all
cookware, probe and any aluminum foil
from the oven—they cannot withstand the
high cleaning temperatures.
NOTE:
If your oven is equipped with nickel oven
shelves, remove them before you begin
the self-clean cycle.
If your oven is equipped with gray
porcelain-coated oven shelves, they may
be left in the oven during the self-clean

Soil on the front frame of the range and
outside the gasket on the door will need to
be cleaned by hand. Clean these areas with

After pressing Self Clean, Adjusting the Time and Pressing Start, the self cleaning cycle shows the # F57_ on the read-out. I tried to cancel and now the door opens, but I can't get the Bake to begin when I press Start. No matter what I press LOC flashes on and off, but the door is unlocked and the heat is off.
Please help!

the oven door should only unlock the door when it deems the temperature a safe temperature.. there are 2 other possible reasons.. the door lock motor could be bad.. or the control is bad.. you would need an electric volt meter to test to see which it is.. if you need further assistance please ask b4 rating

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

try to hold down the light switch on the door set it up for another cleaning hit start when oven clean door lock showes hit cancel if that doesnt work try unplugging it for three min fyi the doors can take up to an hour to un lock after cleaning its so it dont burn your face off from the intense heat after cleaning some take 2
