click the 'Download' button to start the download process.

You need to update your driver by getting the latest software in the Lexmark website here.
During software update what usually gets updated are the basic functionalities. In this case it looks like the scanner is not being updated as well. Hope this helps.
Click on the download tab and select the driver which is for your operating system e.g. Windows XP, Windows Vista. After it is downloaded plug in your printer and install the driver which you downloaded. Printer should be up and running after theat.
Click on Download driver for the X2650. On the next page make sure that you select the proper operating system Tab. The default tab is Windows Xp Pro 64bit.
