Hi,

Press the "Off/Clear' button to cancel anything on the display, and reset the microwave. This is a soft reset and will simply get you out of any program you have started. Press it when the cooking complete reminder appears on the display.
Perform a hard reset. Pull the plug out of the wall power supply, and wait a moment. Plug the microwave back into the wall power supply to reset any anomalies with the microwave's memory. You will need to reset the time of day if you perform a hard reset.
Reset the time of day. Press the "Clock" button, and turn the dial to set the hours. Press the dial to enter. Follow the same procedure for the minutes and a.m. or p.m. Press the "Start" button to start the clock. This should help fix the problem.

I need to change the water filter in my samsung srs618dp fridge freezer. I have the filter but cannot locate the internal part in the fridge i need to change.

For Samsung side-by-side refrigerators, there are two possible locations. One is in the upper right hand corner of the refrigerator. The other is behind the veggie drawer.

To access the filter, either remove the top glass shelf or the vegetable bin. Turn off the water to the refrigerator. If no filter is currently in use, remove the cap. If a filter is in use, remove the old filter. Turn clockwise to remove the old filter. Save the cap to reinstall if the fridge is ever used without the filter. Note the date when you put in the new filter and place the sticker on the filter. Remove the red cap from the new filter and align the unlock mark with the filter mark on the filter housing in the refrigerator. (Looks like an unlocked padlock with the u part turned 180 degrees from the rest of the lock). Turn the new filter counter-clockwise 90 degrees until the lock symbol (closed padlock) lines up with the mark on the housing. Use steady firm pressure - it will be hard to turn. This ensures a tight seal. Turn on the water line and check for leaks. If the filter isn't leaking replace the shelf or the vegetable drawer.

Samsung support for the SRS618dp is here: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP00&prd_ia_cd=2201&prd_mdl_cd=RS23DENS1%2FRAD&prd_mdl_name=SRS618DP&srchword=SRS618DP .

I hope this helps.

My Jenn-aire microwave says locked and has a picture of a padlock. I was microwaving bacon and had just put it some to cook ( my second batch per se) and everything was locked up. I tried pushing options...

Most likely you set a child lock (front panel lock) by holding a button too long (3 seconds). Without a model number, I can't be absolutely sure of the keypad lock for your Jenn-Aire microwave. Usually, the key will have a small padlock icon on it. Press and hold this key. On my microwave you press and hold Start to toggle the lock off.

On a Jenn-Aire JMW2430 and similar models, the Button Lock is activated by a several step process (More and Button Lock). However, pressing and holding the Start button will deactivate it.

I hope this helps.

When i hit start or any express buttons, the time ticks away, but the microwave does not turn on. no sound at all. does it need to be re-set somehow?

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If the switch mount is broken, it's usually more economical and safer to add a dab or two of hot glue to the mount to secure the switch. Let it cool for about 30 minutes before using.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

Control keys are locked

You may lock the control panel to prevent the microwave from being accidentally started or used by children.

To lock the control: press and hold the clear/off pad for about 3 seconds. The display will show "lock" and will then return to the time of day. A small "L" will be displayed to remind you that the control panel is locked. The display will show "lock" if anyone tries to use the microwave. On some models, you press and hold the "5" and "7" pads simultaneously for three seconds.

To unlock the control: press and hold the clear/off pad for about three seconds. Or on some models you press and hold the "5" and "7" simultaneously for three seconds
