If you are in Australia and ordered this item from the US, it is only made to be used with 120V. The voltage in your country is 220V. If you attempted to use the item, you have fried the charger due to the excessive voltage. Misuse is not covered under manufacturer warranty.

Model R-9500 has been discontinued for several years. It is very possible that the batteries are dead because they are so old. You may need to replace them. You will find the correct battery type at shaveroutlet.com. See link below. You will need 2

To change batteries, remove three screws on back. The third screw is hard to see. To access it, you will need to remove the trimmer from the point that it pivots out from the shaver. Use a small flat screwdriver to gently pry the small plastic pegs from their corresponding sockets on the shaver body. Remove back cover. Inside, remove the metal clip that covers the batteries near the bottom of the shaver. Unsolder the batteries from the wires. Solder in the new batteries.

AFTER EACH USE
CLEANING THE EPILATION HEAD
Ensure the epilator is turned off and disconnected from the mains.
Press the head release button/s and open the head assembly. (Diagram G)
Turn the head assembly upside down.
Using your thumbs, push the small sides together and push the epilation head upwards. This releases the
curved epilation head.
Brush the accumulated hair from the tweezers by turning the barrel manually.
NOTE: The body of the epilator is not washable. Do not submerge in water.
TO REMOVE RESIDUE
To remove residue from the stainless steel tweezers, dampen a swab with alcohol. Gently run the swab over the tweezers until the residue has been removed.
