If the unit itself is under a year I would take it back to the store. It sounds like the unit is not charging properly which you already know. Check to see if you actually have charge coming out of your charger. Usually there is a charge light. Is it bright when charging? If you have a volt meter you can check the voltage coming out of the charger to verify if there is indeed voltage coming out. Let me know what you discover.

Hi, this is our third Dyson DC-16.. the Trigger was shorting out on the first two.. Now we have the third one for about a year.. on charge when not using it.. don't use it every day, but for quick pickups...

How are you charging your battery? Every battery has a memory. If you dont let it die the first come times then charge to full the battery will assume 40% is 100%.

Won't charge

The battery from Lowes was the perfect solution for my Oreck AV-701B vacuum. In this vacuum, however, the wires are soldered to the battery leading to a plug which powers the vacuum. You will have to desolder the old battery and solder the new one. This is easy soldering and any friend with a soldering iron could do it for you in two minutes. The improved (restored) power is amazing.
