I'm trying to get wi-fi on my nintendo ds but it keeps saying the access point's security settings are no supported by the nintendo ds.

You need to change the security settings on your router from WPA to WEP. WPA security is not supported by DS. Go to your router's wireless page and under security, change the settings.

The access point's security settings are not supported by the nintendo DS

This means you've got a WPA/2 security connection on your router/access point, whereas the Nintendo DS only supports WEP or open encryption.
You can:
1) change your security from WPA to WEP on your router
2) Purchase a used nintendo wifi stick
3) Set up a second router or access point with WEP security specifically for your DS

It says that my security settings aren't supported by my ds when i try to connect to wireless.

The DS only accepts WEP encryption. Your network is using WPA encryption. To fix this, open your router's settings menu (Either by accessing the gateway in your browser, or using the disk that came with your router) and find your security settings. Change it to WEP, or just no security at all.

Once you do that, go back to your DS and set up the connection again.

My ds lite wont connect to our internet i have a wireless router the ds says the security settings are not supported by the nintendo ds

WPA and WPA2 are not supported by the DS Lite, only WEP and unencrypted wifi connections are. There is no known way at the moment to make the DS Lite support WPA of any form so your only three options are to go to WEP encryption, use no encryption (not recommended), or set up an adhoc connection on a computer with that is connected to your router that has internet connection sharing enabled.

How to connect nitendo with laptop. please tell steps

  • PLEASE Choose the option "Search for access point" from your DS Nintendo unit
  • There are options given.
  • If the access point is in the form of a closed padlock gray, and the message "Security settings incompatible with the Ds" message, it means that your router is configured with security settings that the Nintendo DS does not support (WPA, WPA2, etc..). YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THE SECURITY SETTINGS ON YOUR ROUTER AT THIS POINT.
  • The only solution is to configure your router to WEP because it is the only security" that the console recognizes. IF YOU NEED HELP TO CONFIGURE YOUR ROUTER WITH""" WEP"""", PLEASE RETURN TO ME SO THAT I CAN CONTINUE HELPING YOU

Re:-DS Lite.WiFi set-up. Asked for a Access Point. Came up. '' This access point's security settings are not supported by the Nintendo DS.'' ? It was accepted on my Wii?

Hi,

The DS lite only supports WEP which would have a HEX key password, if you have a pass key or pass phrase then chances are you are using WPA or WPA2 which is not supported on the DS lite.

The WEP key is an older form of security and has been found to have some weaknesses but to be honest its still secure enough for a home wifi set-up.

Here is a link to an article explaining more about the differences between the two.

You can change your settings on the wireless router, but you will then have to adjust the settings on your Wii accordingly.

If you need any further help or advice please feel free to contact me via my profile page.

Nitendo DS lite how to play music using R4 revolution DS on my

First you need to make sure you have the current firmware for the R4 card loaded onto the micro-sd card. I know that some R4 cards only accept up to a 2gb memory card so check and make sure you are using the correct micro card with the R4. When you have downloaded the firmware for your card you need to make some folders. Label them games...movies... music... etc.. making a folder for each one. Put the Mp3 files in the correct folder. When you use your R4 you will see three icons at the startup screen go to the one labeled multi-media... Moonshell will run the movies/music... you are ready to go ... hope this helps

It wont connect to my internt it says that its security setting are not supported by the nitendo ds and then tells me to go here for help game: club penguin

-Taken from Nintendo Support-

My security settings are not supported or are not compatible
If your network name (SSID) is displayed on the Nintendo DS with a gray locked icon (pictured below), then your router is set up with security that is not supported by the Nintendo WFC. Playing multiplayer over the Nintendo WFC is only compatible with the WEP security setting, even when playing with a Nintendo DSi. WPA and other security settings are not compatible. yourssid.gif Solution:
You will need to either change your security settings on your router to "WEP" (recommended), or disable all security. For information on changing the security settings of your router, click here.

I get the fire wall error code with my ds and wii but we have no fire wall why is this doing that?

ok i had the excate same problem

first its not a problem with your router you just need to change your settings so that it sends out a signal in i think its g but i can't remember for sure

this is what you want straight from nintendo

Transmission Rate:
The Nintendo DS has a transmission rate of 1 to 2 mbps (megabits per second). Most routers transmit at a much higher rate, but are able to adjust for devices that transmit at a slower rate. Your router may have this as a setting that might need to be adjusted.

Look through your router settings for anything that indicates transmission rates. If the router is set to accept high transmission rates only, this will need to be changed to accept all, or for some routers, changed to specifically accept the 1 to 2 mbps range.
Additionally, some routers may have settings with an option like "Turbo Boost" or "G-Nitro." These are settings which maintain a high transmission rate and the Nintendo DS will not be able to connect with the router. You will need to disable this option when connecting with the Nintendo DS
