If your hard drive was running at the time you dropped it, your hard drive might have crashed. Sorry to tell you this buy you most probably need to replace the hard drive.

It's very possible that the hard drive is phyically ok but suffering from data damage caused by the fall sliding the write head around. Try starting in safe mode. If same type error occurs, try repairing windows with the install disk. (Go through the windows install till you see the option to repair existing windows installation) There may be other damage, or it may really be broke, but won't hurt to try.

You can reset and eliminate the lock on some televisions without the remote, using a few tactics. Hold the power button for five seconds. The television will automatically restart. If the lock is still on, unplug the television and remove the battery from the back panel of the television.

Operation system not found

Hi there,

First please try to boot to last known good configuration ..

To load the last known good configuration in Windows 2000 / XP reboot the computer and as it's booting booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Last Known Good Configuration" and press your Enter key. .

If you will still see the same problem, then please boot to safe mode..

To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

From safe mode you can restore your PC to the latest restore point when your laptop is working fine.

Locked up screen?? Shut down with button, pull the battery. After five or ten minutes reinstall the battery, Push start button. Screen will say window shut down unexpectedly and ask for start command. Start in safe mode and prompts should come up about your problem and ask you to send a report to microsoft. Do that and follow the prompts. I hope that helps.

The computer does not start up. It lights up the power indicator and after a couple of minutes it went off. Sometime the number indicator keeps beeping and it remains until I shut the computer off. For...

Try unplugging the laptop. Then once you've unplugged the laptop remove the battery. With the laptop unplugged and battery removed, hold the power button for 10 seconds. Replace the battery and the power cord and see if the computer boots.

My problem is I can not phone out with my phone which is a Uniden DSS3455 it seems as if it is locked. I was changing the ringing tone when it happened I must of pressed the wrong code.

try a simple reset first. just drop the charger into the base and watch the charger light. when it flickers that has reset it. if that does not work try resetting the handset by removing the battery for about ten minutes. remember to drop it into the base after you have put the battery back in to sync it with the base. if neither of those methods work which they should... unplug the base for about ten minutes.... make sure you also unplug the phone line as well. after it has reset plug it all back in and place the handset into the base again for a few seconds

Laptop not turning on

Unplug it, remove the battery, count to ten, put the battery back in, plug it back in, and try booting again.

Is there a pin-hole on the bottom of your PC that says "reset" by it?

Has your PC been dropped or anything that may have caused physical damage?

No sound

here is the manual if you don't already have it

http://www.vtechkids.com/_f/_pw/_manual/V.Smile%20Cyber%20Pocket.pdf

resetting that is apparently just a case of removing the batteries and adaptor (if you are using one) wait five or ten minutes... reconnect the adaptor or install the batteries and turn it on

Stuck on asus logo on startup??

Same problem here with my wife's Asus laptop. Called Asus and they said to unplug charger, remove the battery in the back, hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Then, replace battery, then charger, then press the power button and wait for startup. First time it got stuck at the windows loading bar screen for like 5 min. which is abnormal. Did a hard power down (press and hold power button til it shuts off) then restarted again. That time it worked and all is well so far. Could have been due to a static charge as she was on our couch with our dog backing up movies so charge might have entered through the CD/DVD drive opening. (?) Not sure, but if you are sitting on a static-prone couch with your laptop its probably best to sit on top of a bounce sheet.
