try taking some copressed air and blow it through the usb dock carfully to clear the dust and also try just barly press on the thumb whell and try to move it around

Since you got pictures on there I assume your Sansa communicates with your computer. Connect them, then open up the computer's operating system's explorer window. Navigate to the device, then to the "Photos" directory. Delete whatever folders and pictures you wish. You should also delete them from the "Thumbnails" folder as well.
