My TX550W ran out of Black Ink (T103) and I replaced it with a Genuine Epson Cartridge compatible with my printer (73N), My computer status monitor/ink check on the printer shows the black ink is now full but my print job shows faded black lines and the document is unreadable... as if it is still running low on ink? The nozzle check also shows this for black/magenta cartridges, I have performed Head Check, removed and reloaded all ink's separately and still nothing. I have another spare cartridge (73N) but I only want to open if it is the ink that is faulty. Any help would be very appreciated, Amy.

Sometimes the ink does take a while to come from the cartridge to the print head. Performing 1 head cleaning procedure may fix this. But only do this once, anything after is just wasting ink. Also make sure no part of the air tab sticker has blocked the air hole in the cartridge. Have a look at the new one you have to find the hole. Its just under the sticker you take off before installing it into the printer.
I hope this helps Regards GM

Epsom TX550W Doesn't recognise replacement cartridges

Are they official cartridges? If not, are they direct replacements for the Epson versions of the cartridges: Epson T0732/T0732N/73N Epson T0733/T0733N/73N Epson T0734/T0734N/73N
If they are, have they been refilled or bought fresh? If they have been refilled, have they been re-programmed? Have you updated your printer firmware recently?

I have replaced black ink cartridge 73N message on screen says Error i press ok to proceed message goes back saying replace ink cartridge?

The main problem in using the latest Epson printers, is the ink replacements. Ink cartridges like 73N has its own ink reseter (the little chip in front of the cartridge). Once you replaced the ink without using the right procedures, for example you have a 10% remaining ink level on one of the cartridge, and you replaced it without using the setup menu and selecting the replace ink cartridge, even though the cartridge is new, the printer will read the replaced cartridge as a 10% ink level cartridge. When the remaining 10%, drops to 0%, your cartridge will read as an empty cartridge. The chip on the cartridge is registered as an empty cartridge.
-try to replace the ink reseter or try to clean the cartridge chip then put back the ink.

I have an Epsom TX100, it has run out of black ink. I have replaced it with a 91N cartridge, but it is saying it is not compatible.

Hi leona_sha321,

TX100 doesn't use 91N ink cartridges that was why it is saying that it is not compatible. below are the list of inks for your TX100

T0731 73N - black
T0732 73N - cyan
T0733 73N - magenta
T0734 73N - yellow

Thank you. hope this helps

I have an Epson Stylus R265. It is telling me all

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

Compatible non epson ink not working

Epson has gone to great lengths to block compatible cartridges. Many of them simply dont work. Even those that do, you sometimes have to replace ALL of them. A mix of some Epson and some of another brand may give you the results you got. So you have to decide if you will continue to pay Epson's rip off prices or if you will buy a set of compatibles (which costs as much as one epson cartridge), do a one-time complete replacement, and then save money for the life of your printer.
I am using special reusable cartridges from http://www.ccs-digital.com They hold 2/3 more ink than Epson and cost me under $3. The ink is in a separate tank inside the main cartridge. When the ink is empty, I pop out the tank, pop in a new one, and the cartridge automatically resets to full. This is great because Epsons have a habit of reporting out of ink when there is still 10-15% of the ink left, so I can pop in an "empty" cartridge and still get more pages out of it. And I was able to use some of these together with some genuine Epson without problem, though the site says they can't guarantee this will work for all printers.

My epson r285 wont recognise compatable inks

My Epson R285 will not recognise compatible cartridges, mainly the black.I ran out of black ink and installed a compatible cartridge but it did not recognise it.To get the printer running I had to buy a genuine one which worked.I then ran out of all the other colours soon after and installed compatible ones which were accepted.I have now ran out of the black again but the printer will not accept the compatible cartridge. How can I solve this problem as the printer has accepted black compatibles before.
