My lg optimus phone keeps giving me an error message in the middle of sending a message of trying to send a mms message one of the messages I receive is "the application messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly please try later and then it says --force close of somethings has the option to wait.

This basically means the OS is having severe problems. You need to try a master reset first. If this does not work and there is no software update available from the HTC website you need a replacement handset.

Try this.
settings>applications>Manage applications>(select the "ALL" tab)>select "Market"
then "Clear data"

Download the latest market .apk file from thegadgets.net, make sure you keep it in the root directory of SD card. Once downloaded, install the market app with the help of apkinstaller

If still the problem persist hard reset your phone.

I would start with a Master Reset. That's the best place to start.
Pulling the battery doesn't really do anything but fix little problems.

Resetting the phone deletes all data, including downloaded applications, and resets the phone back to its initial state. Press HOME > MENU, then tap Settings > Security > Factory data reset.
