The shader type 3.0 is a characteristic of a video card that is Dx9.3 compatible. Your video card is barely Dx8.0 so there is no way you can change that - the video processor in yours is totally obsolete.

try to use various other lower settings, depending what type of monitor you have 1280x1024 may not be the right choice. for example a wide screen will need fewer vertical pixels
probably that your power supply is not sufficient to handle geforce fx5500. you may try to install the latest driver for this video card or if not, try to check if upgrading your power supply will help

series and up, and Radeon X1k series and up,
Sorry but a video card upgrade is a must to play this game.
If you're trying to run it on a laptop then you are probably out of luck as they're not upgradable.
i think you must update your vga driver... you can use search egine to find it at internet just typing :" driver gForce FX5500" or visit nvidia website choose support/download...find your type of your VGA and download it to your PC. after download install it and they will update your driver aotomaticlly...hope it can solce your problem
Pixel Shader 3 is a hardware feature. You can only get Pixel Shader 3 by getting a new graphics card, as it cannot be 'installed' with software. Please don't use all caps, it doesn't make people want to help.
