If you have a timer light blinking and won't stop the problem is not actually with the timer. It means that the two micros in the TV can't agree that all is okay to start TV. About the only thing you can try is pressing the reset button on the TV's front panel. Just a momentary press, you don't need to hold it down. The button is recessed so you will need a pen or paper clip to press. What should happen if TV is working properly is light should blink for about one minute and then stop, then you can turn on the TV. If light continues to blink set will not come on and you would need to get it serviced, there are many parts inside that can give the same symptom.

Why does my tv turn off automaticly

Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. You may want to look at the users manual for more info. Or call a local place that fixs tv's for some more input before paying someone or getting a new tv. I had a tv once and it did the same think. I had to get into the menu with the remote and figure it out it had something to do with a set sleep timer so the tv would shut off at a certain time if the timer was set. It sucks if you dont have a remote though hopefully you do. Good luck. M Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. The timer does not turn the TV to the right feed

If the TV timer is set within then it will restart in the same channel as when you connect the power to the timer the whole power is shut down and so the memory is lost on the last attempt. Hence the TV will start back on the default setting unless there is proper back up on the memory. Please check if the TV timer can be reset to solve this issue or the memory must be checked for fault to retain last settings.

I have completed the setup of my Day-Timer Mwave Tx12626x Timex Electronic 7 Day Timer. I turned on my television, then plugged it from the outlet, then plugged it into the timer. The TV will not turn on...

Open following link to identify your timer
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#Timex

1) Don't expect the timer to turn on the TV picture.
I have my TV plugged into power strip.
Each night the power strip is off. When power strip resumes next day, the TV is READY to be turned on with the remote control. The picture does not pop up when the power strip goes on.
Same is true for timer.
Try your power strip and see if picture turns on after power strip is turned off-on.
Timer will work same as on-off switch on power strip.

2) Is the power strip interfering with timer?
Plug timer directly into wall outlet and see what happens.
Add a comment and let others know what happened.

3) Battery: Timer requires 2-hours for initial battery charge.
Battery back-up protects programs when power is off.
I don't know if battery is made for repeated on-offs if you turn off power strip each night.
These batteries are not replaceable however timer has 1 year limited warranty.

4) Plug lamp into timer and see if timer operates lamp. This will say if TV electronics are interfering with timer operation.

5) Load: This timer says it is for appliances, which implies it should be rated typical 15A 1800 watt

Stand by timer shuts tv off after 30 sec sony tv

Sounds more like it's been set to do that. Use the following to shut off the timer mode. It's possible that the set is set to the wrong time of day but that is unlikely. You can shut off the timer mode using the on screen menu. Follow the instructions below.

Using the Timer Menu
Current Time Set your TV to the current day and time. Press to open the Current
Time menu:
1 Use the F or f buttons to enter the correct day and time, then press
.
2 Press to exit the menu.
Timer 1 and
Timer 2
Scheduled
viewing
Use the timers to program your TV to turn on and off by day, time,
duration, and channel. The timer duration is a maximum of six hours.
When the channel is fixed, it is not necessary to set the channel.
1 Use the F or f buttons to highlight Timer 1 or Timer 2, then press
.
2 Use the F or f buttons to enter the desired day, start time, duration,
and channel, then press . The timer status should be On when the
Timer has been set, and the timer light on the front panel of the TV
should be on.
3 Press to exit the menu.
? When you perform Auto Program, Timer 1 and Timer 2 settings will be cleared. Also, in the event of
any loss of power, Current Time, Timer 1, and Timer 2 settings will be cleared

The timer on button flashes

The timer light blinking indicates a failure in the TV set. Either the vertical circuit or horizontal circuit has failed and needs repair. It actually has nothing to do with the timer circuit.
In my experience its probably a vertical output chip, smalla capacitor and zener diode. There may also be an open resistor.
Cost to repair in the 50-75 dollar range usually

The tv timer won't turn off

Nope sorry my friend the timer does not have a function to no let the TV set turn on, It only hhas a function to turn off the set. You have another problem with the TV set I bet you 100% Sometimes someone will use the timer funtion to have the TV set turn off and then at turn off or even turn on a componet fails and goes bad. there is no way a TV timer will prevent the TV set from turning on. there is most likly a problem in the TV sets power supply or the sweep power supply. Have it checked out by a pro and they will tell you the same thing. Good guess though, but it does not simply work that way, Sorry. Good Luck
