How can I upload album art onto a philips gogear vibe for all my artists? I have album art inside my folders and i had itunes embed the art into the files when i uploaded them; however the art only shows up with certain artists and albums

  • Anonymous Feb 24, 2013

I have album art embedded into all my files, but it doesn't display on the player. There are no settings to do with album art on the mp4 player even though, on the phillips website under "Phillips GoGear Vibe 4GB" it says it displays album art.

There are 3 possible ways in getting the album art for your music album.

  1. Album art may be obtained from the online Music CD database that Windows Media Player uses.
Note: Not all music albums have album art available in the online CD database.
  2. From the online music store where you purchased your songs or albums, the album art may be downloaded along with your purchase.
  3. You may also create your own album art by transferring your favorite jpg photo into the selected album folder and rename it to Album Art.jpg.
To download album art from the online database and transfer to the player.
  1. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
  2. Launch Windows Media Player.
  3. Go to Tools> Options> Player.
  4. Make sure the "Enable picture support for devices" check box is selected.
  5. Click the Apply, then the OK buttons.
  6. Select the "RIP" tab on the task menu bar.
  7. Insert your music CD into the CD drive of your computer. The Windows Media Player will take a few seconds to show the content of the CD on the display.
  8. Click "Find Album Info". The Player accesses the database hosted by WindowsMedia.com and displays information about the album in the Album Information pane. The album art will be shown if available.(Note: For some music CD, album art may not be found in any of the online database.)
  9. Click Finish to update all the information about your album and show it in the Rip pane.
  10. Connect your Device to the computer.
  11. Select the tracks that you would like to rip by clicking in the check b ox next to the track.
  12. Click the Rip music button to start ripping the music CD.
  13. Once the tracks are finished being ripped to the library, go to the Media library and select the songs that you have just ripped.
  14. Add them to the sync list and transfer them into your Device. The album art will be transferred along with those selected songs.
  15. Disconnect the Device from your computer.
  16. Make sure that the option in your Device has been selected to display the album art on the device, at Settings-> Album art.

To create your own album art and transfer it to the Device
  1. In Windows Media Player , right click on the song you want to update the album art of.
  2. Select "Advanced Tag Editor" option.
  3. In the screen that pops up , select the "Pictures" tab.
  4. Use the drop down list to make sure that the type of picture you add is the Cover (front).
  5. Click on "Add" to associate a picture as the Album art for the song and all the songs in that album.
  6. Add this (and other songs from the same album) to the sync list and transfer them into your Device. The album art will be transferred along with those selected songs.
  7. Disconnect the Device from your computer.
  8. Make sure that the option in your Device has been selected to display the album art on the device, at Settings-> Album art.
You can also click on this link to show the graphical steps on how to upload/add album art on your songs.

Why does Philips GoGear VIBE corrupt folder structure after transferring music

Could be several reasons. The program is only allowing space for certain tracks so puts them in a second folder.
Or the program is making a back up folder, which does not show up in windows (or less you specify show hidden folders).
It has settings that for example only allow a certain number of tracks on an album.

How do I download songs onto my phillips gogear cam

  • Charge your Philips GoGear ViBE for at least three hours before turning it on.
  • 2 Insert the small end of your mini USB cable into your GoGear ViBE. Insert the other end of this cable into one of your computer's USB ports. Turn your GoGear ViBE on by pressing and holding the "Power" button for two seconds.
  • 3 Insert the Philips GoGear ViBE software disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Follow the onscreen prompts to install it.
  • 4 Open "Computer" from the "Start" menu and locate the GoViBE icon to make sure it has been successfully connected to your computer.
  • 5 Navigate to your music files. If you're unsure about their location, start by looking in the "Music" folder under the "Start" menu.
  • 6 Drag and drop your music files from their folder onto the GoViBE icon in your "Computer" window.
  • 7 Right-click the USB icon with the green arrow, located in your taskbar, to disconnect your device. Click "Safely Remove hardware," then wait until your computer confirms that it's safe to remove the device. Disconnect the USB cable from both your computer and your GoGear ViBE.
  • 8 Select the musical note icon from the main menu of your GoGear ViBE to open your music files. Navigate to the sub-folders section, and select a song from either the artist, album, track list or genre. Press the "Play/Pause" button to begin playing a song

How do I download my 7GB iTunes music to my new Sansa 8G clip? Mac G3 OS 10.3.9.

As itunes will not or rather cannot see the Sansa clip you will need to do this manually.

Locate your itunes Folder
Example: Music/Itunes/Itunes media/Music
Once there simply copy and paste or drag and drop each album or artist folder into the clips Music folder

You could also install Windows Media Player for Mac
Once you have it installed
Clik on
Tools
Options
Clik on the Library Tab
Clik on Montitor Folders
Clik add and locate the Itunes/Itunes Media to add that path

Now whatever you add in itunes it will come across to WMP and in turn this player will see your Sansa Clip.. and you can manage it a lot easier using WMP.

Make sure to explore all the settings.. and remember if you want the album to come over from itunes to WMP you can go into these same settings and force it to update simply cliking OK in the Monitor folder settings.

If you want album art.. some may come over.. some may not.. If you must have album art.. prepare to use Amazon to copy and paste.. it's relatively quick and easy to do.

Good luck.. enjoy

Album art

u can use the other mode to put the album art on it too....
just drag and drop the album art using wmp 11...
if that doesn't work the slow way is to use iriver plus 3 and add it manually.
i suggest organising your files by placing albums into individual folders with their album art...
u can also use other programs like itunes or winamp to add album art...

GoGear SA3345

I have a different GoGear model (6330), but the same problem. So the solution I found may work for you, too. In my case using WMP or Rhapsody, album art was being placed in a folder on the device called Albums, when it needs to be under Music in the same folder as the album it goes with. Album art files should always be called "Album Art.jpg" and are 170 x 170 pixels. They can be manually copied or moved to the correct location by just opening the GoGear as a "drive" in Windows Explorer. Hope this helps!
