I have a Sharp R-305KS stainless microwave. It is about 1 year old and until recently, I haven't had any problems with it. About two weeks ago the cancel button on the front panel started to work intermittently, and then stopped working altogether. Within a few days, the other buttons stopped working, and now none of them seem to work. I've unplugged it, and plugged it back in again, which doesn't seem to make a difference. The display still works, so it looks like it has power. The front panel doesn't work at all anymore. Any ideas?

I bought a Sharp Carousel 1100 watt microwave about 8 months ago but now it makes a louder noise when it's on and it doesn't heat. Can I easily fix this myself or is this now trash?

A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a shorted high voltage rectifier diode, but a sound like gurgling into an empty coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron.

Since it's less than a year old, it's fully under warranty and Sharp will fix it free.

Buttons don't work

Hello there:
This is normally caused by a faulty touch pad that is failing These touch pads are replaceable but they can cost about 60 to 100 dollars depending on the exact make and model ok

Microwave problem or electricity circuit problem?

It sounds like there is too much running off that one power line in the house... its starving for power which will take from where it can such as UPS fridge or freezer - other than that it could be a faulty junction box or wiring so you would probably want to see an electrician about it before there is a fire... If too much power is sucked from one wire it may get very hot!

My Sharp Model R 305 S, mfg May 2007, SN 228658,IS TRIPPING THE BREAKER. Less than a year old but I do not have receipt. Purchased at navy exchange, Annapolis, MD

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

Lg LMV1630st stainless steel microwave oven

I'm confused. If it's 6 weeks old, you can get it repaired free.

If it's 1-1/2 years old, the manufacturer will cover the part cost of the magnetron (assuming that's what's wrong) and you will have to pay for labor and any other needed parts.

Also, the subject line mentions a model LMV1630ST while your message body mentions model LMV1680BB.

Chances are your problem is a bad magnetron, but it may be another high voltage part.
