Virus

A computer virus will damage your computer and could destroy your data.
You should install a virus scanning software on your computer.
There are free virus scanning programs on the Internet, I recommend these.
Microsoft Security Essentials

AVGFree

tip

Virus Protection

I have observed that no Anti-Virus software gives you complete protection. Whether its from big known companies like : Norton, McAfee, AVG etc. To Keep your computer safe, try not to click on any unknown advertisements or links on the websites. Keep your Anti-Virus softwares up to date. In case, if your computer is infected than try to use malwarebytes and update it before scanning your computer. Remove all the infections and quarantine items on the software and restart your computer. It will be free from viruses.

The curser is frozen on my Samsung Netbook. I have tried removing the battery and putting it back. I have tried some of the function keys. Nothing has worked. Please Help!

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

There are many things that might cause your PC to run slowly. It could be a fragmented disk; fragmented registry; a virus, trojan, or spyware; high CPU and/or utilization due to too many programs running; high disk I/O; or something else.

To check your CPU and memory utilization, run Task Manager. You can start Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and then clicking on the Task Manager button. In Task manager, click on the Performance tab and check CPU Usage and PF Usage. PF Usage is an indicator of memory usage. If one or both of these is high, click on the Processes tab, and sort the columns by CPU or Memory to see what processes are consuming the resource. If you are not sure what the process "Image name" is for, google the name and you should find what the process is for.

If your CPU and memory usage are reasonable, then you may have a different issue. Even if you running anti-virus software, it may be beneficial to scan your PC with another scanner to check for viruses. No anti-virus software is 100% perfect at catching everything. Here are a few good free online virus scanners that you can run to check your PC:

An excellent free utility for overall system maintenance is Advanced SystemCare Free ( http://download.cnet.com/advanced-systemcare-free/3000-2086_4-10407614 .html ). I use this utility on a regular basis.

You should always run anti-virus software. There are several very good, free, anti-virus products available. One good source to read editor and user reviews, and safely download anti-virus software, is http://download.cnet.com -- search for free antivirus software. In addition to the reviews, you can see how many people are downloading the software, which is another good indicator of how popular it is.

I have used AVG Free ( http://download.cnet.com/avg-anti-virus-free/3000-2239_4-10320142.html ) , and Avast Free ( http://download.cnet.com/avast-free-antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.htm l ). Both are very good, and completely free. At present I am using Avast on all of my home computers.

My phone just keeps restarting (Samsung T239 ). It boots up, says auto time and date: and then powers down and restarts. There's no water damage, and I haven't dropped it... How do I fix this?

hello,it's either you are having a factory problem or it's a virus attack on the mobile phone.to get rid of that you will have to download an anti-virus to take off the virus from your mobile phone.if that is done and the problem still persist i will advice you get a new battery to test it and if the problem does not stop i will advice you go and claim your warranty if it's still under warranty dates.

take care

On norton protection center i get fix protection up dates 0n fix on doing all required the problem is not solved the same applies tospyware definitions i end up with protection updates out of date

Your Norton that you bought in 2005 has expired.
Normally, the anti virus protection, you buy, will have an expiration of 1 year or 2 years. It will only have more, if you have purchased the license for more. If not, that is why your Norton is out ot date. Expired 2006!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND NORTON
Some useful information below. Hope it helps.

SPEAKING WITH MY EXPERIENCE TRY SOMETHING ELSE.

FREE SPYWARE
Download Spybot Search & Destroy. Restart computer, then run Spybot to see what spyware comes up, AND DELET IT.

FYI---Virus Protection-- 2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection. SO just download one.

Running Spybot Search & Destroy with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition. FREE

My office has the Prostar 816 phone and the manual is not detailed at all.. I needed to know how to change the time (due to time change) Our manual says #55 etc etc... Help me please!

To change the time on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down, enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming2.gif)
2) enter in #55 the screen should say YYMMDDWHHMM
3) enter in the year, month, day, day of the week, hours and minutes(the day of the week values are 1= mon. 2= tues. etc.)
press # when finished.

Toshiba Satellite A75-S206 PC Problem

if your screen remains blank after power on, then its not virus problem. The POST information like CPU speed memory check, HDD details etc, should must appear on screen. If not then the problem might be on board and/or on your screen.

You should take a tour to service centre. If its in warrenty, it will be free of charge.

Thanks
