Re-install the drivers for the camera by inserting the CD which came with your laptop or downloading the drivers from http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=VGNCR420E.
If that doesn't work, the camera's cable, on the inside of your laptop, has broken, and will need to be fixed by an authorized repair place.

I have a Sony VAIO model VGN CR420E. After a serious virus infection my repair people emoved Vista and installed Windows 7. I then installed Skype and a Logitech C260 webcam. When I start Skype, my video...

Sounds like a possible driver issue.
Go to Sony's support site and download the latest drivers for your Camera, namely the WebCam Companion software to ensure you have the proper drivers for your integrated webcam.
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNCR420EP&SelectOS=44
A restart is usually needed after the installation.
Test the software to ensure you actually get proper video from the webcam after driver installation.
Test it out on Skype if all goes well.

I upgraded my SONY VAIO VGN-C2S/H from vista to windows 7... but its not recognizing memory stick

Go on sony website and dowload the proper drivers for your machine. The old drivers from vista might not work properly in 7. I, personaly, recomand a fresh clean install in the upgrading cases. That means to format the HDD and install everything from zero. Upgrating from an OS to another by installing an update patch is not a big deal. There might remain some dirty registry wich will make the sistem running slowly.

I changed window vesta to 7 now my vgncr42 laptop's webcam and bluetooth dose not work how to download drivers for it

I'm assuming you changed to Win 7 Home Basic or Premium 32bit System.

First we have to figure out which VGN-CR420 model you have, to do this look on the bottom of your VAIO for the Model/Serial Number tag. On it you should see something like this:

1. VGN-CR420E
2. VGN-CR420E/L
3. VGN-CR420E/N
4. VGN-CR420E/P
5. VGN-CR420E/R
6. VGN-CR420E/W

Now that we have the model #, we can get your drivers.

First we will get your Webcam drivers:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/index.pl (click link)

Now were at Sony eSupport, go to "Software Drivers" (leftside middle of page) click on it. > Option 1. > Choose Country if not USA > Type in Model: VGN-CR420E (use your on model) then click "Continue" > Select Your Operating System > Now we are on your VAIO's page. Look for Camera then click it, the driver file is the "WebCam Companion software" download to you desktop. (easier to find) Open install, Done!

There is other good stuff here so bookmark this page!!!

Now for your Bluetooth driver:

http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php

Read all instructions then click "Download Now" save to desktop. Open > install > done!

Sony webcam no longer works with windows 7

1. The drivers for this Web camera may not be developed for Windows 7 64 bit by the manufacturer.
You will either have to purchase a new camera to be compatible with Windows 7 or Vista 64.
This is also true for your SD card reader.

Sony vaio VGN-SZ430N/B

I'd suggest ring back Sony support and tell them that your OS is Windows 7 - not Vista. Therefore, you need the upgraded VGA driver because the Vista driver is incompatible with Windows 7. Hope it all goes well. If my suggestion works for you, please do rate me. Thanks

Can you upgrade a vgn sz480 to windows 7 professional

Your laptop would be a wonderful candidate for Windows 7. Sony is doing a great job with driver updates and most things should work 100% right out of the box. If you have Vista, you can choose the upgrade version. If you have XP, you will need to do a clean install, Windows 7 will save your personal files and old windows installation on the "C" drive and will list it as windows.old, I would suggest though that you back up every file you want on an external drive before you start.
