SD cards allow you to store digital information; you can use SD cards with most electronic devices like digital cameras and computers.
An SD card will become write protected if the switch on the card is placed on the "Lock" position. This prevents any information on the card from being altered or deleted.
If you wish to add, delete or change any of the information, you must remove the write protection.
Remove the SD card from the computer or digital device.
Locate a switch on the bottom or side of the SD card.
Move the switch to the "Unlocked" position to remove the write protection.
If you do not have a switch, you will need to remove the write protection with your computer.
Insert the SD card into your computer's card reader or back into the digital device.
You can now save and change information on the card.

4gb kingston canon ixus 50

The IXUS 50 works with MMC and SD cards. Your new 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

How can I transfer applications from phone memory to sd card in sony x10 mini ? My phone memory is full

Without knowing the Make and Model of your phone and it's manufacterure/carrier; I can only offer a General Answer that will work with almost all phones and all computers.

Most electronic and mobile phone stores carry a product which allows you to place your tiny, telephone memory card, into a larger, SD card, which will fit into your card reader slot, once you have transferred your data, remember to delete (Format) the memory card by right clicking it in Computer or My Computer, then Select (Format)

**WARNING: Be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN YOUR DATA HAS TRANSFERRED as Formatting a memory card will Delete all data on the card.

You failed to include your Computer Make/Model and/or whether you have a Memory Card Reader, built in. Most People have one, especially on most laptops, but don't know it. The Card Slot would be on the front edge, where the keyboard faces tour belly when using it on your lap, or on the left or right side. The slot you are looking for may be labeled SD, MMC, MS, MS-Pro, etc..

Once the cellphone card, is 'piggy-backed' into the larger SD card, it will function the same as any other memory card, like your camera card, for instance.

Many of the more popular cell phone stores and kiosks, may carry a kit, containing a cord and software which goes from your phone to a USB port on your computer, to move the data from your phone to your computer.

If your computer does not have a built in Memory Card Reader, you can, very inexpensively, purchse a Multi Memory Card Reader which you can use with all memory cards.

It doesnt work when i insert the card with my micro memory card and asks for a disk

Hi likkle_miss_,

The Micro adapter has no memory in it. It is just an adapter to use so you can plug your Micro SD memory card into a larger (SD) slot. The SD Micro memory card needs to be inserted into the adapter.

From cell to Pc

Hi Big Bran,
There are 4 methods to transfer pics n videos from mobile to pc. They are through :
1) Bluetooth
2) Infrared Device
3) PC suite via USB data cable
4) MMC reader. ( memory card reader)
I think u r new user of this mobile phone. For u, I recommend u to use Memory card reader. It is very easy and fast.
Process : Take out memory card of ur mobile and insert in the MMC reader. ( It is easily found in the market and they provide u with adapter like a micro SD memory card to insert ur mini Memory card in it ). Join the MMC reader fitted with ur MMC in PC. Now, it shows a new drive like as CD drives. Now copy or transfer pics or mp3s or videos via it like u do in other drives(pen drives, floppy drives).
I think u may have mini Memory card. For it to be fit in MMC reader, u need a small casing adapter which is like a micro SD memory card. INsert ur MMC in it, and ur drive will be shown.

Nokia N70 wont acknowledge memory card?

Note: This device uses a Reduced Size Dual Voltage
(1.8/3V) MultiMediaCard (RS-MMC). To ensure
interoperability, use only dual voltage RS-MMCs. Check
the compatibility of an RS-MMC with its manufacturer or
provider.
Use only compatible Reduced Size MultiMediaCards
(RS-MMC) with this device. Other memory cards, such as
Secure Digital (SD) cards, do not fit in the memory card
slot and are not compatible with this device. Using an
incompatible memory card may damage the memory card
as well as the device, and data stored on the incompatible
card may be corrupted.

You cannot use the memory
card if the door of the
memory card slot is open.

Format a memory card
When a memory card is reformatted, all data on the card
is permanently lost.
Some memory cards are supplied preformatted and others
require formatting. Consult your retailer to find out if you
must format the memory card before you can use it.
To format a memory card, select Options > Format mem.
card
. Select Yes to confirm. When formatting is complete,
enter a name for the memory card, and select OK.

Finding data on SD or MMC

The Palm OS "Find" application does not look at the content in SD or MMC expansion cards inserted in your handheld. It only searches through data stored in the internal memory of your handheld. There are many third-party searching utilities available.

The cause and solution may include one of the following: The card may not be certified SD or MMC. Purchase a certified SD or MMC memory card. The card may be corrupt. Reformat the memory card. CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. The card is not fully inserted in the camera. Turn off the camera, insert a card into the slot, then push to seat it.
