I needed to replace 2 of my 820mf 25volt capacitors in my Samsung LCD TV. Problem is that I cant find these capacitors anywhere. I did found 820uf instead of 820mf. Are they the same capacitors and would I be able to replace my mf with uf's. If not, where would I be able to get a pair of 820mf 25volt from. Thanks

Uf is for micro farad.
we have the same problem.
my 820uf/25v in my monitor need to replace but i didn't know where to buy this capacitor, so i try to replace it 1000uf/25v
and the result is OK. my monitor is working again. as good as brand new.
you can replace 820uf/25v by 1000uf/25v because they have a 20%tolerance...

Yes, they are identical - u should have been the miu greek letter, which has been incorrectly replaced with m.

Testimonial: "I thought that the mf is for microfarad and the uf is for millifarad. Now they are a tenths of a decimal off, is that correct or am i wrong."

milifarad capacitors are huge, extremely rare and expensive, and are never found in regular consumer electronics (it wouldn't even fit inside the case of your tv). You surely have a 820 microfarad one

Blow capacitor 820uF 25v? to replace 1000uF 25V other capacitor?

It is probably OK, possibly a filtering capacitor, besides no one makes a 820uF any more.

Hi I need to replace 3 x blown capacitors for my LCD monitor. They are 820uf 25v. Do they have to be an exact match ie ceremic/tolorences?

They can be 1000uf 25v (20% higher value is OK), higher voltage is also OK but it may not fit the board. The temperature rating must be 105c and Low ESR type which is very important for switching power supply. You should replace them in a set.
You can get the PANASONIC FM or FC series from DIGIKEY, or from Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/ he can make you a set of caps for you.

Blow capacitor 820uF 25v? where can i buy them? or how to replace them with other capacitor?

You can buy that to an electronics store near your area. Replace that with same value or if you have higher than 25 volts use it provided that it is same as 820 microfarad.

Takes 5 to 10 minutes for the video to appear

Sounds like it could be a weak capacitor. Caps that are bad or weak will work after they warm up.

The sceen just bleaches out when powered on. Controls have no effect. TV is 13 months old.

I took it apart and found two 330 mfc 25volt swollen capacitors on the main board. I replaced them with 330 mfc 35volt capacitors and tv works like new.
