Hi,
I understand that you are having trouble connecting your Nintendo DS wirelessly to your 2Wire router. The solution is simple, your Nintendo DS only supports WEP (Wireless Encription Passkey) security. It is highly possible that your 2Wire router's wireless security is set to WPA. That means you will need to reconfigure your router so that it will be utilizing WEP as a security for your wireless connection. To be able to do this, you need a couple of information from the one who setup your router. 1. User name of your router 2. Password or your router.
Once you have gotten this information, you will need to access your router configuration page through one of the computers that is linked to your 2Wire router by typing
http://gateway.2wire.net on the address bar of your browser.
It will be asking you for the username and password. If nobody had setup or changes the username and password of the router, use this default username and password of a 2Wire router.
Username: (none)
Password: Wireless or
Username: 2Wire and
Password: (none). Try any of the two. If it does not work, try admin and the word password for the password or any other combinations of the two.
Once you have entered the router's configuration page click the Home Network Tab and then click on Wireless Settings. You will see there a portion that says Wireless security. In that area, you will see a drop down where you can choose what kind of wireless security you want on your system. As I have said, the Nintedo DS does not support any other wireless security setting but WEP. That means you will need to change the drop down to WEP. That also means after changing this, you will need to reconfigure your other wireless devices (like your laptop) to use WEP as well.
