That was exactly the problem. I was able to set it to a balance of ringing/brightness and am happy with the results. I really thought I was going to have to spend money getting this fixed so I really appreciate your help !!!! Thanks !!!

I had the same problem with my NAD C525BEE CD player! Thanks very much as I just adjusted the trim pot (was black on mine not yellow, but the only one on the circuit board and near the front) to make my display dimmer and now I no longer hear the annoying high frequency pitch from the player. Thank-you thank-you thank-you!

Hi, From your description, it sounds as if the noise is coming from the circuit that controls the display backlight. If I recall correctly, the C520 has an EL backlight just like the C521 (which I have one of). On the front of the circuit board, there should be a little yellow trimmer potentiometer that controls the brightness of the display. It may be that the noise will go away if the brightness is turned down some. If  the noise varies as you turn the controller, but doesn't go away completely, the backlight may need servicing.

How can i update my mio digi walker c520??

The Users Manual and Support for MIO DigiWalker C520 is here.

I noticed this thread had been read 66000 times there:

onepixel.gif onepixel.gif Question: Is there a map update available for my C-series device?
Answer: We are working on newer map updates with Mio More Express software for C-series devices: C220/S, C320, C520, C720t. The products are in DVD media because the big size is not practical for download. Pleasse check back with Mio support later while slight USB driver issue is under investigation.

NAD C520

The transport may have been forced out of alignment if jamming mechanically may require removal and reinsertion while in the open position if , but if it appears to not have the "grunt" to drive the drawer from slipping belts, you will need to change the load belts. Belts slipping are preventing the mechanism from operating correctly. Can be a tricky job if you dont do much of this sort of thing, but is within the range of most handyppl.
They are in Aussie, but you can get drive belts for any peice of gear from WES Components by mail order.
