Hello geniet1:

If the USB ports are loose, then the computer is going to have to be disassembled for repair. You should have Toshiba, or a Toshiba authorized service center fix it. If I remember correctly, all you have to do with Toshiba laptops is just drop them off at UPS for repair.UPS sends them to Toshiba for free, and Toshiba returns the repaired laptop to you.

My two usb ports have moved towards inside of computer . i tried to disemble the computer without sucess. all srews battery, harddrive have been taken out. what else must i do to remove back cover

This issue requires intricate soldering, you need to send it to Toshiba for motherboard replacement. Most likely, the USB ports were pushed in too hard and the port broke off of its location. Even if you were able to access them, it is unlikely you could fix. However, this model is still fairly new, so send it to them and claim it came that way...

Toshiba Satellite A505 usb ports fell off inside. how are they held on? how to fix?

NOTE*
ALL power removed from the laptop! AC adapter (Charger), and Battery. Buy and wear an ESD wrist strap, connect the alligator clip to a good ground source. Average cost is around $3 to $8.

Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws, mark each compartment for where the screws came out of. DO NOT mix them up.

Toshiba A45-S1202 The rear USB port does work, but the side USB ports by the upper left corner by the LAN port don't work. I did a BIOS FLASH, still nothing! Is this a DUMMY USB? No power to the upper left...

There are no dummy ports on laptops....could be a cold solder point on the motherboard connections or a wire connection is loose. There is also the possibility that the usb controller for that port has failed. Below is the link to the service and repair manual for that laptop......
