I have Philips 50PL9126D/37 The red light on the front where the power indicator is keeps coming on. What does this mean? When it comes on my screen goes blank. Any suggestions?

As far as the lamp stays lit for a few seconds, all other voltages comes to the lamp and inverter board are OK. If the lamp has reached its life time, this type of fault can occur.

It depends on whether you are able to see a clear image or not. check the lamp first if its more than 2 yrs old you may need a new one, last one we checked with the problem you describe had a fan running slow. The fan nearest the lamp needs to run correctly or the tv will shut down. Good luck !

If it is a lamp led light in the front panel, this is an indication that the lamp is not working. Pop sound was came from the electrolytic capacitor most probably in the ballast board that's why the lamp is dead. When the ballast board gone to malfunction, no high voltage will feed to the lamp resulting to that kind of symptoms.
Faulty capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top. Check the ballast board and inspect the capacitor. If you found it faulty, I would advice you to replaced the entire ballast board if you can't troubleshoot it yourself. Click this LINK for the replacement.

Also, check if your unit is still under warranty/extended warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the back cover will void the warranty.

I have a Philips model Problem with the Philips 50PL9126D/37B 50 in. HDTV DLP TV I have a Philips model number 50PL9220D/37 and it turns off after about 30 seconds and a red light on the left hand side of the power button comes on. Not sure what to do.

2 red lights on each side of power button

Ur LCD inverter board is dead,must change to get ur picture back.It usally a long board.

Check to make sure all the ventilation opening on the tv arent plugged. if not, then you will have to make sure all the fans inside the tv are working properly.
