Plug the HDMI into laptop and T.V first then turn the laptop on, I have the same problem sometimes just doesnt read it properly if the laptop is already turned on when plugging in to HDMI. Hope this helps
Does it show a Menu at least? If it does then just switch through the INPUT until you see a picture. Cables most likely to be Video 1, 2 or 3. Video games "LINE", or HDMI..of course "HDMI".
Does the line appear on just one input(cable,hdmi,video1,video2,ect) or on all of them? The reason why I ask is it may be just an issue with one input setting on the television and you may be able to use a different input for a temporary fix of the problem. Plasma telivisions run very hot and it may be overheating. Try using a small mountable fan above the TV pointed into the back heat vents and see if keeping it cooler keeps the issue from happening. These TVs are repairable but usually cost more to repair than what it is worth due to plasma TVs are very in-expensive now.
Are you using the HDMI connection on both units, the SC-PT760 does have a HDMI input Yes/NO ? If not then it has HDMI output to the LG for HD Picture. What I would do if no HDMI INPUT to the SC-PT760 is available, run out of the TV with the Digital connection into the SC-PT760 Digital Audio in, assign the input as tv and you shoild get TV audio out of your home theatre, you could also use the analog connection audio out of the tv to the home theatre but this would not yield a dolby digital sound.
Have you try to replace your HDMI cable?I recommend you to pick up a good Monster HD700 HDMI cable from a local retail store like best buy or circuit city.In case it isn't the cable problem, you could return it. However, when you are a using the HDMI cable,it is normally either have both picture and sound or nothing at all.Are you sure you didn't hook up the audio OUTPUT from your TV back to a receiver input? Or even an optical output from the TV to the receiver? solutiondoct
