Hi,
One song Too Many, The straw That broke the camels Back :)
You really have to take note, to the Amount of songs that can be Stored On These MP3/4 players.
If the players rating has for instance 20 Songs MP3 Maximum, it,s not going to like 21. Or more.
What happens with these devices, is that they Ocassionally ( Model-Make Depending ) Have a Shared System Memory, which is allocated. There May be 1 Folder, allocated to accept 20 Songs. So if you put the extra 1 Song on, it starts to write the song to The MP Player, but has,nt enough space.
This can cause the ( final straw ) or 1 too many songs to be overwritten to another location. ( X-Box hard-drives are Similar )
1 Drive Partitioned to several allocations. So if you overwrite 1 ( too much data ) it overspills into another section or Partion.
If this happens and it,s overwritten your Boot-sector or Operating System. Then Your player May Be Donald-Ducked.
Your options to recover your player Are Thus:-
1:) Check to see if there any files in the Music Folder, also look at other designated folders, to see exactly where the Overspilled data Has Gone.
2:) Try deleting 1 Or 2 insignificant Files, Not System or Startup Files.
3:) If the Player is recognised as a device F:/G:/H:/I:/ in the My Computer Section Of your PC. Right Click And Re-format. ***Important Back up Or save All files folders First***
4:) Try and obtain A Flash update Or re-flash the Firmware, if your Player supports This.
5:) Keep it as a pretty reminder of what you did Wrong, With This One, And buy another hoping you,ve learned by your mistakes. And you,ll never put the extra 1 Song on again, without deleting 2 songs before-Hand.

SOURCE: Coby mp3 won't turn on
Here are a few suggestions:
1-Did you try charging it? If the battery is dead, You may have trouble turning it on. :P
2-If you accidently got some water in it, even a drop, that could be your problem(I've broken 1 to many things this way)
3-Did you have it near a microwave while the microwave was going? A microwave usually states instant death for mp3players and cellphones.
I'd suggest buying a new battery for it and if that doesn't work, you probablly got it wet, and will have to buy a new one.
I hope I could be of assistance, have a nice day! =D

Easiest solution that comes to mind is find someone with the same player. see if you load the drivers on your pc in a file if the you can load it as a new device and open it using drivers on your pc. Just a thought. then load the files back on the unit once you get access.
