It sounds like the speaker connection is intermittent.
Try it on a headset to see if it is still the same.

I would recommend getting the laptop checked for safety reasons, the sound may be coming from the hard drive, it makes a similiar sound when processing information, for example when windows is starting the sound will be more pronounced, if that is the case it is normal. If the sound comes from the cooling fan it should checked for ware.
