My Chamberlain Liftmaster Formula 1 garage door opener just started going up 2 inches then stopping. If I hit either the inside wall mount or the remote in the car it just goes back down 2 inches and back up 2 inches again and stops. Help

You need to check the door springs to see if one is broken and also remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. The gear is white nylon and will be very obvious if it is bad. The part number is 41A2817 and is available at any good door service company. It will come with instructions.

The light by the learn button may be sending a diagnostic code. See if it is flashing a number of times, pausing and then repeating. Count the flashes. Is your door stuck in the open posititon?

Liftmaster Formula 1 remote won't lift the garage. The remote has been reset and still won't lift the garage. The garage can be opened with the wall mounted button

Make sure the light in the wall control is not blinking. If it is press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds.

Most common cause of the problem you describe is a bad start capacitor. Remove the cover from the motor unit. The capacitor is about 5 inches long and 2 inches in diameter.

Release the opener from the door and lift it by hand. If it is heavy you most likely need door springs. You can also try increasing the 'up force' just a bit. This is a control on the back of the opener near where those white wires go.

travel adjustment would not only open a door 6 inches. do you have a broken spring or cable. try adding more UP force.

My garage door opener doesnt close all the way.

The motor is probably either stalling because the door is too stiff, or you have a beam break detector that is being triggered when the door is halfway down.
