Where can I get a User's Guide for my BN59-01040A Samsung Replacement Remote?

User guide to this remote control is not available by internet. Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Why Am I Unable To Program The RCA Remote Control To Operate My Components

Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component? Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component? If you are unable to program the remote control to operate a component, review the following information:

Compatibility
If none of the programming procedures work, the universal remote control may not be compatible with your components, based on the type of infrared technology and the age of the components. Some RCA universal remote controls will only work with components manufactured after 1990.

Distance
If you are testing the remote control after you have entered a code, you may be too far away from the component or you may not have the remote control aimed directly at the component. Because the remote control uses infrared (IR) technology to communicate with components, there must be an unobstructed path between the remote control and the IR sensor on the component.

Code Entry Methods
If the Direct Code Entry method was used to enter the codes for your brand and the unit is still not functioning properly, try one of the automatic code search methods instead. During automatic code search, the remote searches for the correct code to program.

Modes
For the remote control to know which component you wish to operate, you must put the remote control in the correct mode by pressing the corresponding component button.

Combo Units
To program the remote control to operate combo units, such as TV/VCR’s, TV/DVD’s, or TV/VCR/DVD’s, use the combo codes in the Code List to program the individual corresponding component buttons. Once programmed successfully, the TV button controls the TV functions on your unit, and the DVD or VCR button controls the DVD or VCR functions, respectively. The codes in the combo section should be tried first, using the Direct Code Entry method on the TV and DVD or VCR buttons. If this is unsuccessful, use one of the Code Search methods to program your combo unit.

Batteries
Make sure the batteries are new and properly installed.

My battery in my remote were taken out and when this was done I was unable to use the remote to control the cable/T.V. when the batteries were replaced. I set up my remote to turn the T.V. on and off, but...

If the remote control is not broken, the batteries are almost out of power supply. Especially with remote controls that perform multifunction capabilities like with universal controllers. Replace the remote control with new powered batteries. Important notes include being weary of the capacity battery power supply because some brands are incabable of providing supply to remote controllers. For example, unless the remote control requests specific brand battery power supplies, energiser or duracell bateries would power up any device.

We have loads of codes for sky remote control. Do you know which code will enable us to switch the tv off and do the sound control. At present we have to use two controls. TV remote to switch on and...

OK,

This really depends on which brand/model of TV you have and which Sky remote version. The code you need is specific to the brand/model of TV.

The Sky remote version is printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The older Sky remotes will have "RC1600/00" on the sticker. Newer versions will also have either "Rev 4", "Rev 6", or "Rev 8" on the sticker.

If you have a new TV and an older Sky remote (i.e. before Rev 8) your remote may not work with your TV and you will need to buy a new Sky remote if you want to operate TV and Sky box with one remote.

Please post back with your Sky remote version number and your TV brand and EXACT model number. I will then be able to provide codes for your remote and programming instructions.

Thanks.

REMOTE OPERATION

Looks like a common frequency and coding problem. Try to keep the TV and Cable box far away and try the remote. If it works, then, escalate to Cable operator for providing a new box with remote or ask for a different brand of cable box.
