Hi gtodd516,
If you recently received a signal drop, it might caused by the antenna or XM repeaters in your areas have been disabled. There are several information came directly from XM that as a direct result of the merger, several of their repeaters have been disabled. They are informing their subscribers that they might experience technical difficulties in the affected areas. To correct the issue, they require to change the location of the antenna (even slightly), or purchase an antenna extension or purchase a wireless repeater. If you'd like to have an additional information, please contact their Listener Care Center at the number that is listed below. An XM

Hello
Please send me the model number of your Sirus Satellite Radio, and let me know whether can I place a solution before you. Ok.
Sir
The number you indicates is the registration number of your car. The Sirius satellite radio, fitted in it will have a model number, which can be accessed on the back side of the set or on the front face plate of that set. there are several models of Sirius satellete radios, and each one will have its own model number, like we see on the back cover of our TVs. Without it, how can we get, what type is your Sirius radio, and what will be its internal circuit and so on; which are very necessary to send you a solution to your problem.
Model numbers are for example; Sirius SRH-550, Sirius SC-H1, Sirius S!-Starmate, Sirius S2 starmate and so on. We must have that number to detect the problem of your Sirius Radio. OK.
Sir, If there is no damage to the outside antenna and its other fittings, the fault should be with its internal circuits. Without its model number I only can send some details which will occur to this type of satellite radios. If it is enough for you, inform me by Fixya. OK.
Without its exact model number; might be.
Sir
Please try to get me. Sirius has so many models of sattellite radios. Different types,; each type will have its own model number as I stated earlier, and will totally differ with each other in design and functions. I've noted different models fitted in Cadillac, Mercedez, Bentley and such type cars. An intersting thing that I have to inform you now, is you can't find any model number in the sets fitted with company, whichever company it may be; as they will erase the model number with propane eraser, without getting any residue of the printing. Moreover, in some model cars, the company will colloborate with Sirius to get XM sets, whout any model number printed on it. You haven't stated this in your post, that the set is now in Cadillac. that is why I asked you the model number of your Sirius. Do you want some general troubleshooting procedure with Sirius? If so inform me. If you don't want it, why I type so much. OK.

where would I find the model number? It was installed in the car when I bought it. The only number I have is the registration number..2PKG400U
i called xm and they resent a signal but that didn't solve the problem..there doesn't appear to be and structual damage to the outside antenna or receiver
have you come up with a solution to my problem??
as I stated earlier, the radio is in my car which was installed at the factory..you cannot access it as you would a tv...I would have to go to a Cadillac dealer to have them remove the dash to access the number
Also, it is not a Sirius set...it is an XM radio set factory installed..
i have an XM radio receiver, factory installed in a 2004 Cadillac. In the last 3 days I have begun having intermittent reception with a "no signal" alert. I live in Tampa Florida and got it there, on my way up to North Carolina and here in North Carolina. This has never happened before on trips. It does not appear to be any structual damage to the outside antenna or receiver. I called XM and they reset the signal but it didn't solve the problem. I cannot give you a model number because I would have to take it to a Cadillac dealer to have the radio removed from the dash to access the back for the number
My daughter has XM radio...no problems with the signal...her father-in-law has XM radio and has had no reception problem..thanks, nice try, but not the solution. I think I just wasted $16 bucks.
