The impact must have broken the fluorescent lamp which is the LCD panels back lighting .
Go to the back of the TV and with the room lights off look through the holes in the back of the TV. If the CFL lamp works you will see some white light bleeding at some spot near the bottom. But if it does not light up it might need replacement. You will need professional help and please take a quote inc: services charges because it is going to cost you. Good luck

I have a Vizio D60-D3 LED HD Tv. The grandson threw the remote and hit it. The screen is broken and the picture is messed up. Can you help by telling me what I need to replace besides the screen itself?

Hard to find new screen....not to mention pricey. If you dont want to buy a new tv try ebay or such for a tv with same model that has a bad power board or another problem besides screen. Switch your parts into other.

No pictures showing anymore

sounds like the projection bulb went. behind computer monitors and lcd screens is a bulb that shines a light threw the screen to allow you to be able to see the image, try opening the unit to see if the bulb is on while unit is on, if not try shining a light threw the back of the screen to see if you can see the image. bulb may need to be replaced.

Breville hot cup

Breville Hot Cup spitting:
Hi Louise.
My HAZ upright kettle did the same thing recently.
Sounds like your element-tube has a rust-hole, which allowed water to enter the normally dry and cozy filament area. The water that seeps inside hits the red-hot filament, vaporises to steam which violently expands out of the pinhole.
Remove element, check for corrosion, renew.
Hope this helps. Clive.

My son threw a double A battery a hit our tv screen. The screen has colored lines and you cant see the picture. Can the screen be replaced?

YES, just bring your unit to a qualified service center to see the model of the screen.
If it is a tube type then a lot of service center have a slightly used Picture tube which have a good quality as brand new but it's up to you.

thanks for using fixya.

My grandson got hold of the tv remote and turned the pip feature on. we cannot turn it off. help!

Hey there..I had a PIP problem for the last 6 weeks and just solved it with this tip. The solution was in front of me all the time.

Hit the set up button on the TV.
You'll see options to change the language. The last option is to put the TV in "Demo Mode."
Put the TV in Demo mode, when the first screen appears, "Welcome to...." the PIP will disappear.
Hit exit before the screen moves to the "Menu." If you miss it, watch the demo once--it will restart--and hit the exit button the next time you see the "Welcome to" message.

I just did this and it worked for me - i hope it works for you

Picture on screen is to big

Picture zoom may have been activated. Try MENU on remote and select "Picture" and look for "Normal", Zoom1", "Zoom2", "4:3", etc. Select normal or auto and exit.

Good luck
