Get into MENUS, go to DIAGNOSTICS, PQ TROUBLESHOOTING. Check the cyan.
Clean the contacts on the cyan cartridge, replace the cyan cartridge, Replace the High Voltage Board. The laser scanner for that color may have to be replaced. The DC Controller could be bad.

Also, under DIAGNOSTICS there is a "Disable Cartridge Test".
That test will allow you to remove all the cartridges and swap them around(in other words, put the cyan in the black slot and the yellow in the magenta slot) and print. So why don't you run that test and swap the cyan and the black. Print and see if the problem follows the cyan cartridge. If it does, replace it. If the problem stays with the original slot for the cyan, then the stuff mentioned in the first paragraph comes into play and you may need a tech to look at it and replace parts.
Good luck

HP color laserjet cp2025 will not print. Help.

No.

Very few printers will print if they're out of toner, even if the colour toner is exhausted and the print job is only black. Replace the empty toner and if this is the only problem, the printer will continue printing.

My HPLJ3500 Color Printer wont print black even tho we just put in a new cartridge. Prints magenta, cyan, yellow, but no black. HELP!

Run the PQ troubleshooting diagnostic.
See if the black is printing.
If not, run the Disable Cartridge check. This will allow you print with only one cartridge in the printer. Take out all the cartridges. Put the black in another slot and put the cyan in the black slot(the top). Print the config page. If the black is printing, is the cyan printing. If black isn't printing the cartridge is bad. If black is printing and cyan isn't something is wrong with the printer. If they are both printing put them back in the correct locations along with the other two colors. It isn't the printer.

We use HP Color Laserjet CM1017; Magenta color is not printing

Dirty laser unit - needs (careful) cleaning internally.

See ' Printing Weak Magenta', 'Printing Light Magenta' for HP CM1015, HP Color Laserjet 1600, 2600, 2605.

All the same laser unit

Hp clj 5550 not printing cyan

Check the black cover on the pick up assembly under the cyan cartridge. If it is only a fraction too high cyan will not print. Make sure it is clipped in place correctly.

Cyan is offset about 3/16"

check the locking tabs on the cartridge, sounds like they are not locking down the cartridge.

Standard Output Full

Empty the standard out put. It will only hold so many sheets before it stops. If the output tray is empty, there is a sensor that needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Hp 4600 no cyan printing

Firstoff, if you have tray 1 set to "any size" & "any type" they had problems with it going into calibration to frequently. If you upgrade the firmware this will take care of that. As for no Cyan, check the scanner interlock to insure it is opening the scanner cover. You could also go into diagnostics and disable cartridge check and swap the cartridges around, ie. cyan & magenta, run the print quality pages and see if the problem follows the cartridge. It could also be HV power supply.

HP Laserjet 5500dn-Background Colour setting

I take it that machine was fine before you changed cart.

Sounds like you have got a faulty cart, if HP then it is under warranty so return for credit.

but I suspect you have a aftermarket/refill cart that is causing you greif, return it and use genuine HP ones.
