I had a similar issue. My Smart Cycle worked for a while, then it progressively became more and more temperamental, failing at unusual times, not turning on consistently, then finally quit powering on entirely. Turns out there was dirt & grime (maybe a little corrosion) on the game cartridge and plug. The solution -- clean with Windex and q-tips.

Here's the post that led me to that conclusion:

And more on cleaning the cartridges and console plugs in general:

If you have a TV with a "Game" setting like we do, set it to that and see if it helps (on our Sylvania TV it is a button on the remote that says "Game". Good luck!

I turn on smart cycle extreme and only half screen comes on with green color, but it doesn't start the program. Please help!

Clean the cartridge connection with Isopropyl alcohol. Also clean where the cartridge is inserted (an old toothbrush works the best). This corrected the issue for me.

The conditioner drwaer fills with water after each cycle and the machine leaaks during each cycle

Check for pluged drain to washer ,check fill hoses for tighten fittings and good washer inside. (seal). The conditioner container may have a valve that has gone bad or pluged up. To much conditioner can plug this part up, Should check with a appliance repairman. If this is electrical, he should do the job for safety. Hope this might be of some help.
