Recently my baking element in my Frigidaire stove was burned while I was baking. I have since replaced it but the oven (baking/broiler) still does not work but the stove top range is in working order. What else could be the problem?

Bake and broiler element come on when bake is selected. Why?

Understand that I am not a professional, so this answer is subject to revision by someone who is more knowledgeable.

Where I live now I'm on Natural Gas, but in the past I've had electric stove/ovens. Based on my best recall the situation you describe is NOT abnormal.

When in the Broil mode, the Bake element is NOT on, but the Broil element is on FULL-bore to provide that strong radiant heat required for the Broiling process, AND for the good browning /crusting of the product being Broiled!!!!!

On the other hand, when Baking, not broiling, IF the Broiling element were on high it would provide too much radiant heat to the top of the product being Baked, and would burn the top.

While Baking, by energizing the Broil element in a lower power setting, the Baking process is enhanced with more heat by the assistance of the Broiler element, BUT without the hazard of burning on the top!!!!!

Hope this is right and helps your understanding.

Why won't my oven and broiler work after replacing the bake element in my Tappan tef361esd?

There are usually no fuses in the stove. Sometimes there is a thermal fuse but it is usually not tripped from a burned out element. the problem may be a burned contact in the oven control or thermostat or a burned wire. Sometimes the contact will burn when the elements burn out.

Frigidarie stove model#PLGFZ390ECB burners and broiler works oven dont replace iginitor still do not work.

Good Afternoon Cheryl,

I understand that the burners and broiler are working in your Frigidaire range, model# PLGFZ390ECB, but the bake element does not work. I also see that you have replaced the igniter and it is still not working. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why your oven will not come on. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Kenmore electric oven will not bake

The bake element
is the heating element that is found at the bottom of the oven. Most electric ovens use both the bake element and the broil element in a bake cycle, with the bake element performing 90% of the heating. If the bake element isn't working, the oven may not heat. To help determine if the bake element is defective you should first do a visual check. If the element is blistered or separated then it should be replaced. If the element appears to look normal, then turn the oven on to a bake function for a minute and then turn it off.

Check the element for signs of heating and if it is still cold then it may be defective. Disconnect the power and then remove the back panel. First check the wires as they may have become loose or corroded. If the element appears to be fine visually, test it for continuity with a multi-meter. If the element is burned or no longer has continuity, it will need to be replaced.

Broiler will not come on when baking

Take a look at the element ( the "tube" inside the oven that glows red hot when the oven is turned on). If the element is burned out it will not be hot and glowing. You may have a loose connection to the element but most likely it is burned out and needs replacing.
Our stove is 27 years old and I have had to replace top or bottom elements every 6 years or so. I just bought a replacement element at Canadian Tire in Calgary for about $34. Just undo the 2 screws around the element and attach the new element to the old wires.
Good Luck -I hope this works for you

FRIGIDAIRE STOVE MODEL FEF316BSC I WAS BAKING

Don't worry! Your element probably blew out. It's no big deal. It happens. Call us for parts. 9728590929. It's really a simple repair, probably one of the easiest to do. Hope this helps!
