You burnt out the backlit lamp. unfortunately there is no easy fix for this. If still underwarranty great, if not... it will cost more to fix it then buy a new tv probably.

Common LG LCD TV REPAIR - NO PICTURE OR BLACK SCREEN FIX ... came on good with green light working properlybut still no picture.
This model was known for issues with the Y-sustain, Y-drives, and the Z-sustain boards. These boards help process the picture image to the screen. When one or more of these boards fail, the screen stays black, and you only have audio & on/off. You could call LG and try to get your TV repaired at a discount if you can convince LG to honor this known issue. Another issue could be the actual panel has gone bad. The plasma panel in your TV has a two warranty and LG would fix that for free.Well…it would be free as long as it’s not past two years of your date of purchase. What zip code are you in?
You need the ysus board. This is a very common problem with LG's. If it is coming up with the fuse removed you are essentially removing the short from the power supply so that it can come up and deliver other voltages for sound and all. Was your plasma tv recently transported or moved from one area to another?
One thing about plasma tv's if you lay them horizontally or has been tilt at a certain angle they will have problems projecting any picture. PLASMA tv's should ALWAYS stay vertically standing. you can let it stand where it should be for atleast 24 hours ( i recommend upto 48 hours) without plugging it in.. (no electricity what so ever) then check if it works.
About the click you heard, it might have been a blown fuse. Probably resulting from plugging in the tv while it was in a "chemical inbalance". therefore my above recommendation is a bit too late. if you still have warranty then you have no problem. just the hassle.
It definitely has a problem, possibly the Y sustain board and y drivers Up/Lwr. Best suggestion is to take it in for service or have someone come out how has experience with Plasma repair.
call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
If the Video (Picture/Pix) is gone but you can hear the Audio (sound), then it could mean the YSUS PCB Assembly is gone/kaput/finish. Can replace the PCB, not repair the PCB due to timing circuitry involve. Cost maybe roughly $500 depending where you located. The PCB is located on the left hand side of your TV when you are facing the back (Back open). Might find 3-4 brown flex membrane connecting to the plasma panel. The PCB has a silver or black aluminum heatsink (big) on it. Good Luck.
