D-Link DP-301U Problem

Good Day
I have a problem with this print server, If i add this print server on the network with a static address to the printer the USB port on the print server does not pickup the printer but only if i reset the print server to it's default settings and address it picks up the printer and only on the default address.
Please can someone give me some advice how to solve this problem.

Wel the network is on a 192.168.2 range and this is the only network printer an dthe ip i gave him is 192.168.2.250.
No this is a normal network print server.
The PJL Printer block is on the Configuration page of the Print servers web page.

It should be fine as long as it is in the range that the router can recognize and that it doesn't conflict with another IP address used on another device. Usually on the networks I design I keep the printers on higher IP address so that they can be managed on a certain range.

Is this the wireless print server?

What specifically do you mean by PJL printer block?

1.my dp-301u print server is in net A and it works well; 2.i just have an other net B ,it joins net A by a route ; 3.users in net B can connect to other server in net A but they can't connect the print...

Port 80 may be open behind the router to network B, but the ports used for printing may not. See if the router is blocking any ports and disable this feature for printing ports or all ports if possible.
Alternatively, try setting up a virtual server on the bridging router that points to the static ip address of your printer on network A.
Hope this helps. -Daniel

Your print server has to have its own IP address. If you have your computer as 198.168.1.1 then your print server would be 198.168.1.2.
You cant have the same IP address on any 2 items on your network.

Setting up IP address on server

    Download and install <a href="http://www.wireshark.org/download.html">Wireshark</a>.

After installing, click the first button on the toolbar to list available capture devices. Select the interface you use to connect to your network (wired or wireless card) by clicking the "Start" button next to it.

Power off and back on the print server. Watch the log on Wireshark, and look for the D-Link identifier under the "Source" tab. In the same row, it will tell you the IP address the print server has assigned to it. You can then change your computer's IP to be in the same subnet (match the xxx's in the address xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy), allowing you to connect to it.

    Documents not printing

Hi How to check the print server is in the wireless network or not!! Check under the Router Setup page Router's ip address... Check if you are able to ping the Print Server Ip address....Since it the router will assign a ip address from DHCP range.. If you are able to ping the router's ip address and the print server ip address then the print server is in the Wireless LAN... Try the following steps. 1. Go to run and type "cmd" press enter 2. type ipconfig. 3. Check the range of ip address...if its 192.168.0.XX 4. Try pinging that ip address.. 5. If able to ping the router and print server.. Then the wireless network is fine... Somehow some of the printer's don't work with some of the print servers.. Check if D-link does support the printer or not!!!! for this particular model of the router...
