I wanted to install the Python 1401 remote start to my 07 camry with factory alarm (rs3200 i believe). Can this be done without losing functionality of the factory alarm?

unlocking driver door only silences a factory alarm. put the python in valet mode until you can get another remote. key on hold valet button for 5 secs and led should glow all the time.
It sounds like the factory alarm is setting up. To make sure the factory alarm does not come on you should make sure all doors are closed before you actually hit the remote to lock the doors. Do not lock the doors with the switch on the door. Make sure you use the Python remote only and all doors closed before you press the lock button.
Make sure that the neutral safety wire (small black with white) sees a chassis ground. If you connected the toggle switch to the wire, confirm that the other side of that wire is connected to a good ground. Confirm that the hood pin switch wire (gray) is NOT seeing ground during remote start. All of the above are relevant for a vehicle with an automatic transmission. If the clicking sound that you hear is also flashing the parking lights, that is a remote starter error message. Six flashes concern the hood shutdown (-) or the brake shutdown(+). Seven flashes concern the neutral safety shutdown.
I cannot tell you why the factory alarm is triggering at one place and not the other but I can tell you that the remote starter is not disarming the factory alarm. In order to disarm the factory alarm, the remote starter must supply a ground pulse to the disarm wire at the body control module (BCM). The BCM is located in the driver side kick panel and the wire is black in pin "L." To arm the factory alarm, the same wire needs a ground pulse through a 1k ohm resistor. I have not installed the 1401, so I am not sure if that particular unit has outputs for factory arm and disarm, most DEI products do have at least a disarm wire that is light green/black. This wire outputs a negative pulse that should disarm the alarm without the addition of relays. If 1401 is equipped with a alarm rearm wire it would most likely be green/white. This wire also outputs a negative pulse but it will not be sufficient in rearming through a 1k ohm resistor without a relay. The relay terminal would be wired as follows if the 1401 is capable of this feature:
30 = vehicle black wire (solder in 1k ohm resistor) 87 = chassis ground 87a = no connection 85 = green/white wire of 1401 86 = 12v constant (fused - 5A is more than enough)
This is a common problem on these and the equivalent viper models. We sent all our units back to viper and they have now re-released the units. We had installed these units into customers vehicles and about 50% had the same issue your having. Even after they were reprogrammed, many returned with the problem again. My advice is to contact python and have the unit replaced.
Check to see if a door is not closed all the way or the dome lights are stuck on for some reason. Also check any other switches that might have been added like hood or trunk. The extra chirp after arming usually indicates something was not closed completely and the alarm will bypass that protected area until corrected. Delayed dome lights will cause this, but you would have noticed it long ago.

Locate the valet override/program button. Turn key to "run" position, push and hold button for a couple seconds, and that should put it in valet mode. Door locks will still function with remote, but alarm will not arm. LED should stay on solid.
