I have just formatted my pc with the GeForce6100SM-M2 motherboard due to a virus. I installed the drivers but for some reason i cannot set up a network to access the internet. The wizard gives me a screen saying it cannot install because it cannot find the hardware. Also in device manager there is a yellow ? next to other pci bridge device. Could this be the problem. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated thanks very much Kevin Smith

Within the drivers you transferred to the computer there maybe files with .exe extensions use those if available. If not you will need to go into device manager. (Right click "My Computer" > Manage > Click Device Manager on the left pane. Right click the device, Update Driver, Select No not at this time for using windows update, "Install from specific location", browse to the folder containing the driver files for said device and click OK it should install correctly. If it doesn't try each folder (folder should have either .inf or .sys files in it)

Sounds like you just downloaded the wrong driver. I'm not sure which you tried, but i found the one below. I wouldn't worry about the fan unless the system is overheating. Hope this helps.

you have not installed your sound driver after reinstallation.please install it from your driver's cd

download lates driver from nvidia.com

Hi dadynidhen, there is another way to install the LAN driver & that is through windows system properties. Find the yellow question mark again & follow the instructions below.

Right click once on the yellow question mark, a window will open & Left click once on “update driver”. Windows hardware wizard will open. Click No, not at this time. Than click the next button. Another window will open. Left click once in the circle next to, Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). Than click the next button. Again, another window will open. We want to remove the green check mark next to, Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...). Left click on the green check mark once & it will go away.
Click the browse button, click the + sign next to my computer. Find the folder in your system that holds the 32bit LAN driver. High-light the 32bit folder by left clicking on it once. Than click OK.
Windows will see the driver files & install the driver. Once done restart the system. Run windows update service. There may be an update for the LAN driver.

Every time after formating the hard disk and doing the fresh installation of windows, you need to install the driver i.e. in motherboard CD that you are got with your motherboard. After installation of all driver; the pc will work smoothly.

Hi there.

I had to install WindowsXP from scratch, due to a virus infection. After complete installation of the WindowsXP, I installed all the drivers from the disc that was included with the motherboard. Yet for some reason, when I open windows media player, there is no sound device. What seems to be the problem?

Can anyone of you help me withit?

you must use the driver soundcard for winxp..

if u use the driver for win98,the hardware cannot work properly..
