I have philips GoGear GA30006 bought last year Feb 2010. I could not turn it on since a couple of weeks ago. When I attach it to the computer, the computer does not show any marking that a device has been attached. Could it be battery issue? Could you show me how to change it? Regards, Indrie

I'm not sure about the Memory Format Error, but you are going to need the software to not only recharge the player, but put music on it as well. To turn it on you have to hold down the play button until you see a little "Philips" logo pop up on it. I looked into downloading the upgrade to see if it could recharge that way, but it seems to be only what it says it is; an upgrade. I suggest you ask your husband's friend for the software disk.

Hi. i bought my acer aspire 5583 3 years ago...now it suddenly can not be turned on... last 2 weeks i still can play it..but one week later when i came back from holiday...i found out sth wrong with my...

This is just a suggestion ... try removing the battery and turning the computer on with only the mains power lead attached.

Sometimes, as the battery dies, it does silly things with the computer.

If it works, order a new battery.

Hope this helps,

Goes white when turned on

try turning it on and leaving that way until the battery is fully discharged.

After that, try connecting it again.

Good luck

I should've bought an iPod, too. Try resetting it using the Device Manager (after backing up all of the songs), then put the songs back on.

PHILIPS GOGEAR HDD060 DOES NOT TURN ON

Here's a better solution - no offense, silly girl. First, find out if the computer will recognize the GoGear when you plug it in. If so, then use the Repair function in the Philips Device Manager.
If the computer doesn't recognize the player: Disconnect the GoGear from the computer, and turn the player off. Hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you re-plug the GoGear back into the computer. After 45 seconds to one minute, Windows will go into recovery mode and resucitate your player.

Also, the number for the Manufacturer - Philips - is
1-866-PHI-LIPS (or was it 1-888? - one of these is an adult line, the other is not) :-)
