Philips 42PF7220A/37 Chassis Number BP2.3U

I have a Philips 42PF7220A/37 April 2006. Chassis Number BP2.3U TV that does not work. The front LED flashes red seven times and the power supply led flashes green three times. VSCAN voltage drops to zero (or climbs). I unplugged the power feed cable to the y-sustain board and the error codes go away and VSCAN voltage remains at -190VDC. I replaced the y-sustain board and the error codes went away for approximately 30 minutes only to return again. I still did not have a picture for that 30 minutes

I think its something on the picture frame board or on the line output board. I would sway to the line output simply because I think but not sure that error code is linked to the line output stage plus when you unplugged the cable the voltage seems within parameters. Good luck.

Menu screen keeps coming back while cable show is playing

First verify the exact Model Number of your TV. Mine is a 42PF7220A/37.

go to:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=42PF7220A/37&scy=us&slg=en

On this page I found listed under "Software & drivers" the Firmware Upgrade Software 42PF7220A/37 v1.5.0.0

I downloaded the compressed file and extracted it to a USB Flash Drive.
After you extract the file you will have 2 files...."autorun.upg" and a "readme.txt".
Print out the readme file the delete it off the USB Flash Drive
Make sure the USB Flash Drive has only one file on it (autorun.upg)

Then just follow the instructions from the "readme" file.

Fixed the "Menu" problem for me.....

I own a Philips 42PF7220A/37 42'' TV (LED flashes red, some people on the net say its the capacitor c2074 to be replaced with a 2200uf 35v. for some reason i cant seem to find that capacitor number. can...

Most likely the problem is your Philips 42PF7220A/37, may not have the same power supply board as other people are talking about on the net. So, the C2074 capacitor maybe under a different number.
The best thing I would do if I had the same problem is to get a Service Manual on the internet. It cost about less than $20. Right now your TV is in " Protection Mode" and blinking a trouble code with the red light. The Service Manual will tell you what the red light blinking code means. Plus, it will give you schematics, part numbers list, and test point for diagnosing. It's better to have a manual for fixing than going by guesses over the internet.

Most likely the YSCAN UPPER board and/or YSCAN LOWER Board also gone. Your new YSUS board may damage again if you don't replace the bad YSCAN boards. Try to replace the three boards together and then to verify which boards are bad one by one. Good luck.
