This requires a connection from the H1 harness to the vehicle horn wire. in some cases a relay may be necessary as well. additionally the feature needs to be turned on in the programming menu.

If you are looking to sync the remote key fob to the remote starter:
Remote programming 1. Turn key to the ON position 2. Within 5 seconds, press and release Valet button one time. 3. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Valet button. The LED will flash one time and the horn honks to confirm entry into remote programming. 4. Press the button on the remote control. 5. The horn honks to confirm the remote has been programmed. 6. Release the Valet button, and turn the key to the Off position. 7. The horn sounds one long honk to confirm that remote programming has been exited. I have an avital 4103 in my 2004 silverado. It won't unlock the doors and it starts but immediately quits.

There is a bypass module that communicates with the truck. It's in addition to the 4103 system. It's lost its programming or is disconnected. Sometimes you can unplug the module, turn the key on, plug module back in, turn key off, then on and start. All should be working fine again.

How do I activate the alarm on my Dodge

The 4103 is not an alarm. It's a remote starter with keyless entry! Do you want the horn to sound when locking and unlocking? First, make sure that the horn wire was connected. Press and hold the lock button on the remote. That should activate the panic/car finder. The horn will begin to sound. Press and release the lock button to turn it off.

If the horn is connected and, you want said horn to sound when locking and unlocking, open door, turn ignition on then off, press and hold programming switch until the horn chirps once. Release programming button, press and release programming one time then, press and hold programming button. While holding the programming button press and release unlock button on remote. You should hear two chirps from the unit. Release programming button, turn ignition on to exit programming, Test system.

Horn honks when unlocking doors.

If your vehicle is equipped with a factory keyless entry system and you have the owner's manual, there should be a section in the manual describing how to change your options with your system. But if you have an aftermarket system, which I am thinking this the case, you will have to manually go into your dash under your steering wheel and cut the wire going to your horn from the security system. Once you have accessed your wiring underneath your steering wheel, there is a main harness with a bunch of wires going to the steering wheel. In this harness you will find a DARK GREEN/VIOLET small gauge wire and you should see another wire tapping into it probably coming from the security module. Just cut it off but leave the DARK GREEN/VIOLET untouched and this will eliminate the horn honks.

My avital 4103 does not unlock the passenger door when unlocking OR set the alarm when locking - should it?

Its not the avital piece that's the problem, it's your INSTALLER that is/was the problem....haha, got somethin wired wrong!! It only does what you install it to do! :)
