Paper or specialty media misfeeds
These are possible solutions if paper or specialty media misfeeds or skews, or if multiple sheets feed or stick together.
Try one or more of the following:
Check paper condition

  • Use only new, unwrinkled paper.

Check paper loading

  • Load a smaller amount of paper into the printer.

  • Load paper with the print side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)

Remove each page as it is printed

  • Remove each page as it exits, and let it dry completely before stacking.

Adjust the paper guides

Printer is ripping paper, and getting jammed

Most likely you have something on the roller or jamming it. I have disassembled printers to find paper, paper clips, and other things helping to jam the paper roller. Try to clear the obstruction by checking around the roller anyway you can. As I said, sometimes you have to take the printer apart to get to the problem. Sometimes it's a bad gear, so it can get a bit tricky. It's your call- you might try to unjam it, and if that fails, replace it- they're pretty reasonable these days, anyway. Good luck!

Lexmark P3150 was working fine. But paper got jammed. I pulled the paper out and color cartrdge went to left side like a bullet and blue light in On Off switch started flickering. When I start printer...

Maybe you somehow detached the encoder strip when removing the paper.
First, before you put your hands inside the printer, unplug the power chord from your printer. This is important.
Then open up the lid and locate the horizontal metal bar.  Right above this there should be a semi-transparent plastic strip attached in the right and left side of your printer. If you see this, try moving it with your finger. If its properly attached, it should bounce back to it's original position. If it's loose, try to attach it to the right/left side again. If you can't find it, it probably fell off and is jammed inside the printer somewhere.

If the encoder strip looks OK, your carrier might have jammed in the left side of your printer. Keep the power chord unplugged.
See if you can unjam the carrier by pulling it along the metal rod. If should be fairly easy to move back and forth, so you'll know if it's stuck. If you can't loosen it, your printer is probably damaged beyond repair. Check if you have warranty on it.

Lexmark 5250 Printer is malfunctioning

I have the same problem. I think my printer is being sabotaged because I keep ignoring the request to register the printer. I'm going out to buy another printer, but it damn sure will not be a Lexmark.

Paper jams

actually, no..it was an unintended feature(just kidding) I work on these all the time, and you might find that removing the bottom tray helps a bit to release the lower tension, when you open the rear door.
