SOURCE: rca compact stereo rs2657 cd door won't open

Mine was doing the same thing so I unplugged it and took the left side panel off to see what was wrong with it. I did this by removing the 2 screws on the left and the 3 on the back left side also. There was a cd stuck in it. It took some fenangling but I got it out and it works fine now. I know, I know. We as lay people are not supposed to do these things but it was out of warranty and would have cost me as much to have it repaired as to buy a new one. Good luck!

SOURCE: CD Door will not open

Hi

I'd say the child lock is on or it is a faulty unit

Link to user manual

Child lock

There is a lock on the back you may have bumped.

from manual...
To avoid accidental key activation, slide the key
lock switch on the back of the unit to the
LOCK position.
The Lock icon can be seen on display.
• Slide to the switch to the OFF position
to unlock keys.

SOURCE: my rca 5 disk vertically

Try this... unplug the unit and turn it upside down.  Have a small screwdriver ready.  No plug the unit in and try to turn the wheel in the large slot clockwize.  When you see the spring clip try to grab the white plastic stop and move it clockwize.  This should eventually open the door.  It did for me.

SOURCE: my rca rs 2657 cd changer is stuck. door will not

If you hit the open button and you hear a sound like a motor running than it is most likely a belt or connection that physically opens the tray. You'll have to take it apart, locate the cd player and check from there. If no sound of a motor running when the button is pushed then the motor is probably bad.

Testimonial: "A motor is running when i hit the door open button. A humming loud noise. Will take apart and explore and keep u posted . thanks"

CD Door will not open

There is a problem with the device itself...what I would recommend you to do is to return it from the store you purchase it...there isnt anything phisycally you can do about the problem you are having...it is the device itself that is defective.

What model RCA disk changer?

It is a 5 disc changer. The drawer will not open and it now has 4 cd's stuck inside the changer. It also will not play any of those "stuck" cd's.

THis happens when the drawer is jammed. Turn off the unit and turn it on and then use the disc skip from the remote so that the cds inside will change and then press the Open button.
