It's probably easiest to just format it. Right-click the device under My Computer and choose Format. Or if you have a mac use, Disc Utility under Applications, Utilities.

My seagate always says its full but cant be unless it puts the same stuff on over and over? if so how do i know what to delete safely?

Click start control panel Administrative tools Computer Management Disk Management
right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes

Automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in one box then select check now start then after its finished return and tick the other box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive.

You might get best results ticking in one box the returning after it has finished then ticking the other box

it might take some time depending on the size of your disk but be patient.

Hope it helps.

Is WDBAAU0015HBK is fat 32 system file format? IsWDBAAU0015ABK is also available? How to convert my existing seagate 1tb hard disk from ntfs to fat32 with out making partition?

You can convert FAT32 to NTFS, but you cannot reverse this process. If you want to set up the hard drive for FAT32 you need to delete the NTFS partition the create a new partition and then format in FAT32.

Need to recover files from WD drive that was attached to IMAC when it shut down from Kernal panic. Files were there, some files remain. The files that remain are the ones on the drive before I downloaded...

First thing first - STOP using your WD drive immediately! If you continue using the disk drive, you significantly increase the risk that the files you want to recover will be lost forever due to overwritten. Every new file or action will take up more "free space" and reduce your chances of retrieving your deleted files from WD. So really, you need to act quickly.

The next step - get a good Mac HDD data recovery software to retrieve the data as most as possible.

Itunes messed up my external hardrive

I doubt that iTunes really moved/reorganized files on your computer.

iTunest may have created its own "Table Of Contents", presenting a "view" of all your files.

Open "My Computer" and open your external hard-drive.
The files should be in "your" order.

Open "My Documents". Open "My Music".
The files should be in "your" order.

If iTunes really did "reorganize" your files, there's no way to "go back", because "Windows System Restore" does not automatically created time-stamped backups of your 'My Documents' folder (nor of any external disk-drive -- where would it put that much data???).

Seagate Free Agent Go Problem

Install the seagate manager on a different computer and decrypt the files there first then move it back to your computer using the basic copy/cut and paste.

Accidently deleted photo files from a external seagate hard drive. Is there any way to get them back???

I bought PC Beginner from www.PCbeginner.com . It has programs that I have used to recover photos. It has other good utilities on it too. It's a good disk to have.
