Well i have a compaq presario sr1603wm and basically i was going to buy a new computer but thats like 600 bucks so i was wondering... what kinds of graphics cards/ram/processors/power supplies can i use to...

you can use these processors:

AMD Athlon 64 (3000+ - 4000+)
AMD Athlon 64 FX (51 - 60)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 (3600+ - 4800+)
Some AMD Opteron 1xx series
Some Sempron 3x00+ (Step E3,

any standard wopeer supply will do, and you will need a more powerfyul power supply for a mre powerful graphics card.

you can get any pci-e card. an nvidia 9800gt used to be the 2nd best graphics, but its now the minimum card for gaming. I wqould reccomend a 9800, or at least an nvidia gtx260. the higher the numper, per series, and the 4xx and 5xx series are btter than the 2xx. be sure to check the graphics card for reccomended power supply rating.

for the ram, you need pc3200 DDR ram(DDR-400) or higher DDR ram, not compatible with ddr2 or ddr3.

Where can i buy a psu..(fsp250-60hen) for my packard bell desk top

Take your current power-supply to any computer-store, so that they can match its size, and its connectors (both the number of connectors and the shape of the connectors), with a replacement power-supply unit.

Compaq presario sr1750nx Athlon 64 3500+ 2.20GHz Processor

Hi zcaldwell1;

You have the option of upgrading your processor without buying a new system. I wouldn't purchase the other system, If you looking to upgrade look at the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 6400+, that will step you up to 3.2GHz, which is compatible with your motherboard. You can get more information on it HERE. And for more information on your motherboard you can find that HERE.

The only thing you want to make sure off is that you have enough power to handle this processor. If you have a 450 or up power supply you'll be fine.

Good Luck

Mark

Intel Pentium Dual Core and AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors

I'd advise don't start thinking below E2180. As per the performance go, E2180 and AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ are almost same but E2180 runs cooler. If you are going to use dedicated graphics card, go for E2180 and if you want a CPU for Integrated Graphics go for AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ because most of the 780G/790X chip-based AMD-compatible boards offer superior IGP.
Best wishes...

Suitable psu for packard bell istart 1359

Unfortunately, no. See this link for a picture of your supply: http://www.cwc-group.com/fspgrfsposu2.html . It's considerably longer and narrower than a standard ATC power supply. This is typical of Packard Bell, e-Machines and many others.

Hope this helps!
