I set up a facebook account a month ago. Somehow my email and phone number never got attatched to this account. I cant access it. All facebook wants to do is set up a new account

Hi there, if your email has never been attached to the account, then the set-up / registration process was never completed. Facebook will NOT operate unlesss you enter your VALID email address. You may have mistyped it the first time round. Try finding out through a friend logging in, to find your name, and see if the email address is visible to your friends. That should show you if you went wrong somewhere. Your phone number does not have to be attached to your FB account. I would advise against adding it, too.

    Facebook state that if you have lost access to the email address you used to register with, you should ask the email address provider for a password reset, although I don't think this is your problem? If you need to, you can create a new profile page (register again) - which is allowed as long as you don't use BOTH accounts (which will not be a problem either). As far as I can tell something went wrong with the email address you used originally, maybe a double character entered somewhere? You may have entered an email address that someone else is using (who is not on Facebook), who gets your password reset emails from Facebook. In which case I should tend to create a new profile page, and make sure you have a secondary email added for back-up purposes. You will then be able to access your account through both email addresses. Sorry, there doesn't seem to be an easy fix for this.

Good luck. Facebook have that problem you need to be on your account too. You can reset it but it's a pain. May need to try to find the page after you try to log on and it should ask for friends phone numbers they can text and send them codes. You get the numbers and send them to Facebook and hope you get back on. It's that or you try to remember you name and password

You need an email to register with Facebook. If you do not have access to your email address then try to recover it.

Also when clicking 'forgotten password' on the Facebook site review your options available to you such as having 2 factor authentication or a mobile recovery number.

If you can't answer any secority question, don't have
phone number and no longer have access to it and cant remember password to your email account, you can't recover your facebook account. As tragic as that.
