Tv got wet and now will not turn on - Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS120 27" TV

If the liquid got into the TV and onto the printed circuit board, there could be damage to the circuit board. The fact that the TV had a reaction to the liquid is not a good thing. If the TV is still wet inside the problem will remain. If you continue to turn the TV on if it is still wet you might cause more damage. I would wait until the liquid is gone or dry and try the TV again. If the TV was in the normal position to watch, the liquid should run off and dry in a few days.

MOST, electronics should work properly after being wet.. as long as:

1.it was not / does not get turned on well it is wet.
2.it is only water that was spilled on it (NO- soda, milk, juice)

your best bet is to let it fully dry for a week or so, not in direct sunlight, and make sure there is no power running to it.

Contact the authorized service center for Philips. Never switch On this TV; until it have been checked by the experts at Philips.

Not a good idea to clean tv with windex. Try wet towel dipped in mild soap solution. Make sure all water has been removed and towel is only wet. When tv off, try removing the spots. Turn tv on only after tv dry.

have you tried the screen control board on the back of the screen. were and how did it get wet??

I dropped a little amount of water In the back not very much at all an I am scared to try an turn it back on

OK, the worst thing to do in this situation is to plug a TV up when it has gotten wet. this has compounded the issue dramatically. you will need to replace the main board and power supply sectors as well. They are shorted.

when electronics get wet they tend to short out.
so some part of the electroncs is damaged.
you will have to take it in for repairs
