The battery seems dead, I have tried to charge. How do I get under the top cover? I know it has to do with the four holes in the top and that you need a flat head, but I cannot seem to get it off? Help!
I was mowing in light grass and hit a tree root. the mower quit, batteries are fully charged. can anyone suggest a way to remove top cover? I suspect that i'm going to be confronted w/a printed circuit board with several silicon controlled rectiviers on it. I'm a legally blind ex electronics tech.
The easiest way to get to the batteries is to take off the three bolts that hold the motor on to the chassis. After that take a flat head screwdriver and depress the little metal holders from the plastic, It took a little shaking to get it loose. dont give up. Then you discover your four batteries.

When the safety key is not fully inserted and then the starter is pulled things get out of alignment. How do I fix this problem myself as the repair shop says it is a 5 second fix.
