The noise is probably due to the print heads aligning and clicking. To try to make this noise a little quieter, clean and align the print heads.
Good luck!

Its normal for printers to make a loud noise, especially Hp's, its normal, if you are really concerned then you can take it to an HP dealer for them to check it out, the maint thing that causes the sound is the mechanics moving the paper through the printer.
Hope that helps

Why is my printer making really loud grinding noise and will not feed paper or print

It sounds like a bit of paper is stuck somewhere in the paper feed route. Remove the toner cartridge and any other bits that pull out. Removable bits often have a green tag or finger grips moulded in to them. Do a careful check in the printer for any bits of paper or even a full sheet stuck somewhere. Carefully remove all rubbish and reassemble.

Ineed to conect hp Laser to my computer to print my documents

To use the printer with your computer, first you have to install the drivers and make power cable connection. HP LaserJet 1018 has USB connectivity. So, you have to connect it to the PC via USB Cable.
HP LaserJet 1018 Drivers & User Guide
Visit the above links from HP Official Support and download the Drivers for your Model of the printer and Operating System (e.g. Windows XP) and user manual. Double-click the downloaded driver file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer.

Does the used of 1080 have any problems?

Hi,

The LaserJet 1018 is a pretty simple printer and it doesn't need much in the way of software control. Install the supplied CD and you get a typical HP driver, providing watermarks, – though no overprinting – support for printing up to 16 pages per sheet and the ability to fit a printed document to the size of paper available, great for printing Web pages.

Even its a used model, its really a good printer for personal/Official usage.

HP 2100 makes squealing noises

It could be a roller, a drum, sometimes the auger in the cartridge can do it.

Should have a technician look at it to find specifically where it is comming from.
