My Kenmore 20722(990) washing machine stopped mid cycle. It is full of water and clothes. I checked my circuit breaker, nothing tripped. I checked my ground fault switch, that wasn't it either. It is definitely getting electricity, but it will not work. I tried different settings and starting it during points of the cycle. Nothing worked. Please help. Is there a reset switch somewhere on the machine? I can't find a manual to help me with this.

Go to the link below and enter your model number in the search window there. Sears has thousands of parts lists and line drawing illustrations that can aid in finding the reset button if present or any other part you may want to locate or replace.
Sears PartsDirect
BTW, it does not have to be a Kenmore or Sears-branded appliance. They have many others as well.

Kenmore 110-88752793 washer dryer. Tub filled up for the rinse cycle and then stopped. Tried turning on the dryer and that has no power either. Cycled the circuit breaker. Still nothing. Any ideas?

The circuit that supplies your washer and dryer may also have an in-line GFI outlet which may have tripped. Even though you have cycled the circuit breaker you would also have to reset the GFI outlet as well. Good luck.

The washer shuts down in mid cycle

Hello. LG washing machines come in a widevariety of models, each with unique features, functions and design. Many of thebasic functions of each model are universal when it comes to running the washcycle. If the washing machine stops in the middle of a wash cycle, the firststep that should be taken is to perform troubleshooting steps to determine thecause of the problem. After the source of the trouble has been established, itcan be resolved in most cases by continuing the troubleshooting process. 1 Make sure the lid is completely closed. Certain partsof a wash cycle will not start if the lid is not closed.
2 Check the load to see whether it isunbalanced. If the washer gets off balance, it may stop in the middle of acycle. Redistribute the clothing so that it is evenly balanced around the drum.
3 Make sure the hot and cold water faucetsconnected to the washing machine are turned on fully. If the washing machine isnot getting enough water, it will not be able to complete the cycle.
4 Inspect the drain hose for clogs orobstructions. The washing machine may stop if it is unable to drain waterproperly. Check the drain pipe that the hose feeds into for clogs or debris.
5 Check the house's circuit breaker panel orfuse box. The circuit may have been tripped or a fuse may be blown. Replace anyblown fuses and reset any tripped circuits.

Kenmore washer machine cylce stopped in mid cycle

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

  • No power
  • Lid switch

No power
Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch
If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.
check these, if still the problem persists then let me know for further help.

Washing machine has stopped mid-cycle

Your lid switch has failed. Take loose the control panel with the two screws in the back corners of the panel(Back of machine) Then flip the panel forward and your lid switch is on the left side cliped into the case. Replace it and your good to wash clothes again.

Washing machine stops mid-cycle and full of water

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
