Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). The batteries that was in your pack when bought are only test batteries and not rechargeble.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Turn on your camera without the memory card.

Try removing the batteries (at least) overnight and putting them back in later; there are circuits that operate with extremely low currents that may be 'remembering' its condition.
These things can keep time and date for ages so there are things active inside even when not in use.
I know Xmas is coming but you still have a couple of days to let it 'rest' without batteries and that may cure your problem.

What helped my camra to get working is to make sure you have the right battery.
the kodak easyshare takes only AA/lithium,AA/ni-mi,kaa2hr,AA/zr6 and AA/lr6 and akline too. It does not work for durecell batteries.Hope I helped!
