Power cycle the print sever by unplug the power at the back (10 second).
The print server default IP is 192.168.5.1
Set the computer which has the print server utility installed to have an IP of 192.168.5.2

(Test ping the print server / 192.168.5.1 --
If print server is respond to ping, using web browser with the address of 192.168.5.1 will also beable to configure the print server)

Run the utility/hit the refresh button to find the print server again.

It is recommended to use the 2nd method and run the PSAdmin utility from the system's programs after the installation is completed.
If it still could not find the print server, direct connect your computer to the print server using cross over cable and run the utility again to find the print server.
When it finds the print server, change the print server IP(192.168.5.1) to a unique static IP your router can accept. Put the print server back to the network, change back your computer's IP accordingly and try ping the print server with the new IP or run the utility again.

For wireless print server, it is recommended to use Ad-hoc connection from a wireless computer to connect to the print server first. (follow the Quick Installation Guide booklet that came with the box on page 8)

Hi. i cant connect to print server d-link dp301p+ IP to configure it?! who knows what IP by default it have? 192.168.0.10 doesnt work... Thanks, Mike

First find out the IP address , Subnet mask, and Gateway addresses of your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ). According to above addresses, you have to complete the network settings of your printer by mentioning the different IP address .

To find out the above mentioned addresses, first open the control panel -> network connections -> local area connction -> properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPV4) OR Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPV6)according to your ISP -> Properties

By the systematic selection as mentioned above you will get the IP address, subnet mask and Gateway addresses.

Suppose your IP address is 192.168.0.10 , the gateway may be 192.168.0.1 Or any number. And the subnet mask may be XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

According to your ISP addresses you have to complete the network settings of your printer. First press the additional functions -> system settings -> network settings -> TCP/IP settings -> fill up the addresses as follows.

IP address : 192.168.0.16 OR any number .

subnet mask : XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

Gateway : 192.168.0.1

Hurray ! the problem about your network connection with the printer to your computer will be automatically solved.

How do i setup my internet on the samsung nc10? i am wirelessly connected but when i go into networks it says te local connection is not connected because the network cable is unplugged but i dont have a...

Local area connection is meant for wired LAN connection. you can connect the internet using a straight clable wire.
on how to make a straight cable, below is the link

http://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/ethernetcables.html

But as you have said you can connect using wireless, then in wireless adapter setting,

Assigned your IP address Plus Subnet Mask address.
Set your wireless access point IP address as your Default Gateway Address.

In Primary DNS address as provided by your Internet service provider.specify secondary address too,it available.

If DHCP server is available then you don't need to configure anything.

If you are trying to browse internet through a proxy server than Go to internet Explorer,Click "Tools", Select "Internet options ", Select Connection, Tick Proxy server and specify the IP address of your proxy server and the port.

you will be able to browse Internet now.

Before You Start
Browse into the Netopia's web interface at http://192.168.1.254 (if using the default IP setting). If your network has a different IP addressing scheme, modify this accordingly.

Once logged in, click on the Expert Mode link in the left-hand side menu (if that link is visible). In the Expert Mode Confirmation screen click on Ok to continue. This menu bar will be visible at the top of your screen if you are in Expert Mode.

I have Windows XP Pro, SP2, Office 2007, and an HP Photosmart C7280 off a wireless router. Printer scans OK but 9 times out of ten it can't see the PC. DHCP is "on" but printer IP address is sometimes Auto...

The problem is you want to have the printer on a fixed IP address. This can be done by reserving the IP for the mac address of the printer in the router OR simpler just set the IP address in the printer.

Change IP settings
The default setting for the IP settings is Automatic, which sets the IP settings
automatically. However, if you are an advanced user, you might want to manually change
the IP address, subnet mask, or the default gateway. To see the IP address and subnet
mask of the HP All-in-One, print a network configuration page from the HP All-in-One.
NOTE: When manually entering an IP Setting, you must already be connected to an
active Network, otherwise the setting will not stay when you exit from the menu.
CAUTION: Be careful when manually assigning an IP address. If you enter an invalid
IP address during the installation, your network components will not be able to connect
with the HP All-in-One.
To change IP settings
1. Press Setup.
2. Press until Network is highlighted, then press OK.
The Network menu appears.
3. Press until Advanced Setup is highlighted, and then press OK.
4. Press until IP Settings is highlighted, and then press OK.
If the HP All-in-One is already connected to a wired network, you are prompted to
confirm that you want to change the IP settings. Press OK.
5. Press until Manual is highlighted, and then press OK.
6. Press to highlight one of the following IP settings, and then press OK.
• IP Address
• Subnet Mask
• Default Gateway
7. Enter your changes, and then press OK to confirm the setting.

DP-300 Print Server Access Problem

Using a print server like this, you should not need to "browse" to find the printers. See what ip address has been assigned to the printer. Once you have the ip address, open a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd) and type:
ping <insert ip address>
ex: ping 192.168.0.24

See if you can ping the printer from each of your computers. If you can, great, install the new printer by adding a "local" printer at a new TCP/IP port with the IP address of your printer. If not, then you may have some routing issues.

Are all of the printers connected to the same switch? Do you have multiple "routers" on your network acting as DHCP servers?

Hope this helps.

D-Link DP-311P Wireless print server reseting

Hi Luis,

Sorry, it had been my mistake, did not realise your model does not have ethernet port at the back.

On D-Link printer servers that do not have cable connections it requires a couple more operations, you must do the following to connect safely to the server and open configuration:

  • On the rear panel of the DP-311P you fiind a switch to set server to Config mode. Set the switch to
  • Now go to the computer that is connecting wirelessly to the D-Link, go to wireless adapter properties, for example using control panel, and set the adapter to Ad-Hoc mode.
  • Change manually the wireless adapter IP Address so that it is in the same IP Address range
  • as the DP-311P, set the wireless adapter to a static IP address comprised within 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.255 excluding 192.160.0.10.
  • Always in wireless adapter settings >> IP configuration, set subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
  • Ensure you click OK, or Apply in network settings Window, and restart the computer to apply new network settings.
  • Open Internet Explorer and type the IP Address of your wireless print server in the address bar. The default IP Address is 192.168.0.10.
You also find procedure explained at page 7 of the user manual here : D-Link DP-311P

Then follow instructions at page 15 to reset the server.

After you have finished configuring the DP-311P, to save the changes, you must toggle the mode switch on the rear panel of the print server back to “Normal” mode.
